What causes adminitrative or Additional processing at NVC?

We were hung up at NVC for nearly 8 weeks in AP. This happened back in 2008, right when they started to subject K1's to extra scrutiny at NVC. We couldn't find a thing on VJ about it, no one could tell us what was going on. In the end, a few other K1's in a similar situation turned up, and we started a thread still pinned under the NVC forum. It's still useful information, and times havve coe down a lot since then

FOIA request response proved what the consulate told me. It was random in our case. We just drew the short straw.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Well, if it's any consultation, it isn't taking that long these days. Last time I checked the second thread, it was a couple of weeks. I hope you are sent on soon

Here's a link to the part 2 of the pinned thread.
