Trying to schedule K1 Visa Interview in Napoli

Hi Everyone,

I'm having trouble getting straight information about how to schedule the interview at the consulate in Napoli.

I was alerted by email (after I inquired by email) that the consulate had received my finace's approved petition. They sent us via email an information packet with the documents DS-230 and the applicant's statement. The instructions read to fax the DS-230 part 1 along with the applicant's statement. We did this last Friday and I emailed them asking if they could confirm that they had received the documents. They responded that the documents had been received and that we should wait 5 business days before calling to schedule the interview.

Yesterday (Monday), they emailed me to say that actually, they didn't receive the documents and to send them again to a different number: 081-5838111. This number is not a fax number (its actually just phone number for the main switchboard of the consulate) but we tried anyway to no avail. So in the end we just sent the forms again to the original fax number that is listed in the instructions and on the website: 081-5838394 and emailed the forms as pdfs to IVNaples@state.gov. I asked again for confirmation but they have since been unresponsive. There are no operators available on the phone lines either. I feel like they just closed up shop overnight!

Anyone have any ideas how to proceed? The only reason we hesitate to simply call to schedule the interview is it costs 15 euros and we already made the mistake of calling that number too early (and the information they are able to provide at that office is very limited).

Please help! We don't want to waste any more time waiting around!
