Okay guys...

I just called DOS and they said my visa was issued today???!!!!!!!! I asked if i was good to go, and the women said (exact quote) 'good to go, it just needs to be printed'. I don't really understand how it can be issued but not printed, but whatever, i think it's all gonna be okay! I told her what the guy said to me earlier, and she said it was probably just normal processing post approval and there was no need for me to really be given a code to email the embassy, i should just wait to hear from the courier.

Lesson learned: do not waste your money calling the embassy, they are way less helpful than the state department and cost £1 a minute more.

I'll confirm when i actually receive the visa - hopefully by friday.

I'm sorry for the panic and feel kinda silly, the guy was just so weird when i called this morning, and seemed worried that i'd been told i was approved and just bandied abou the words extra processing... not helpful.

Also, andrew, if you're reading this, sorry i woke you up at 5 am this morning for (hopefully) nothing :P

As far as I'm aware once you're approved at the interview, they file the details away and then get the USA to issue an actual visa which has to get processed and sent back to them. Then they just print it. Thank god it's all over with! You'll be 'home' soon! Told you you'd be okay!

See! told you! Nothing to worry about. You got yourself all stressed out over a guy that was reading off a screen and didn't know what he was reading! :bonk:

I'm not going to call, not going to get stressed out, just wait and check the couriers site EVERYDAY!

Then as soon as I know it's on the way, I'll be booking my flights. :)

Dec 31st 2011- I-129F sent
August 2nd 2012- INTERVIEW- APPROVED
August 10th 2012- Visas received
August 21st 2012- P.O.E Boston!

September 11th 2012- Applied for SSN.
September 16th 2012- MARRIED!!!
September 17th 2012- Received SSN.
October 26th 2012- Sent off AOS forms.

January 16th 2013- EAD and AP card issued.
January 26th 2013- Card received in mail.

May 29th 2013- Service request, as outside of processing times.

June 25th 2013- Green card/EAD stamp received in passport. Green card production ordered!

July 5th 2013- Green card arrives :)

August 22nd 2014- Daughter Born!

April 17th 2015- I-751 Sent.

April 20th 2015- NOA 1

June 2nd 2015- Biometrics Appt.

February 2nd 2016- I-751 APPROVED! 10 Year Green card issued!

 

February 22nd 2019 Applied for Citizenship! 

March 14th 2019 - Biometrics appt.

April 23rd 2019 - Interview. APPROVED!!!!!  It took 60 days!!!

My interview was in London 31 July and they would have delivered my passport today but I asked them to deliver it Thursday instead. So it took just a week.

congrats! mine was 30th! oh well... hope to have it by the end of the week.

I don't want to alarm you, but we have had another member who was told that she was approved (and was a natural born English woman with English heritage) at the interview and then went into AP for months...we haven't heard back from her lately, though.

Naturalization

9/9: Mailed N-400 package off

9/11: Arrived at Dallas, TX

9/17: NOA

9/19: Check cashed

9/23: Received NOA

10/7: Text from USCIS on status update: Biometrics in the mail

10/9: Received Biometrics letter

10/29: Biometrics

10/31: In-line

2/16: Text from USCIS that Baltimore has scheduled an interview...finally!!

2/24: Interview letter received

3/24: Naturalization interview

Okay guys...

Call back once a day, till you hear 'visa packet sent' timetick. IMO, it ain't over till ya hear that.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Update: DX tracking says they have the package and visa scheduled for delivery monday 13th :D (14 days/10 working days from interview).

after talking to the state department again, i think there was definitely a delay issuing the visa for whatever reason, but it's on it's way now so i can (almost) relax...

Haha i got a one way flight from London Heathrow to New Orleans Intl via Atlanta with STA for £358 (all inc). They do great deals for under 26's, particularly on one-way flights, since they're used to people booking round the world trips and not always departing from same country/continent as they left! Expedia also had one way flghts for around the £450 range when I was looking a few weeks ago, and again this week for another member who was flying to BOS.
