Well, just like yourself, I have known people for years who have gone through it both successfully and unsuccessfully. I'm WELL aware it's a tough consulate hence why I told you there is a good chance that you will get denied. Talk to some of the women on this board particularly the ones who are level headed (like tany)and have had a denial recently. Take any of the stories you hear on your support group with a grain of salt. I know about these support groups and the kinds of women that are involved in them.

Wow (LOL), it is a small group and many have already gone through the process and been in the group for years. It's not full of drama and the women are very supportive. One just emailed me today with some information and I discovered she was is a corporate attorney. And some of them have gone through a tough time with immigrations but eventually prevailed. One couple took 4 years to be together. They were trying not to have to hire a lawyer and attempted to go through the USCIS channel to provide guidance but it wasn't working so they finally had to get a lawyer and within a year her husband was approved.

"I know about these support groups and the kinds of women that are involved in them." That's not nice, your doing what the Consulate does, lumping everyone in together. I like the group because it is small and drama free, simply support.

Ok, I'll say it one more time. The person who interviewed (not my spouse) knew the State but he was unable to point it out on a MAP. Secondly, Morocco does not care about how many trips. There are people who had 3 or 4 trips and they are denied compared to people with 1 or 2 trips that's approved. Even lawyers are afraid of Morocco because the Consulate has high denial rates and it determinations are random with one exception. Classism is a factor. But when the interview occurs I'll definitely let everyone know the results. There is no reason for us to be denied. I am a US citizen, I have the income, I own my home, both our families have been involved in this process, we qualify based on the requirements to file, and we have plenty of evidence to show legitimacy. But in Morocco this does not matter. It's all about the mood of the interviewer. They are awarded for the number of denials not the number of approvals. That's Morocco, folks.

The first time we did the k1 and we were denied . so I went to Morocco and got married and reply for the cr/1 .Which in my case was a mistake cuz almost a month before our interview for the cr1 case uscis sent all my papers back to Casa for a new interview . SO I look at is like I wasted all that xtra money to refile and what ever else need to be done . I was so surprised when casa called my house. I told the guy yea I want to go thur with it but when I told he we were already married we had to wait for a new date for the interview .

msheesha and mithra are VERY well aware of this consulate....Mithra may not have went through Morocco, but has been on MENA for years, I would listen to them also. Multiple trips are good, but it is when they happened. Were there multiple trips BEFORE engagement or marriage?? Foreverwaiting had 4 trips I think before they even got engaged and got through a very tough interview, I think because they took their time BEFORE doing anything. We got engaged on the first trip, so that right there just made them think he was using me, and made our entire case an uphill battle, even if we did talk every single day just about, and visiting every year for a few weeks. We also never used a lawyer, a lawyer can't do anything to change the CO's mind. They did not like my husband...even though the 3rd interview went well, they asked him a lot of questions, and told him to go straight to the doctor to get a drug test. Yes, they thought he was a user, and thank God, he never used drugs in his life, so was no worries there. But the doctor asked him why he looked so tired, and he was like "lady, I've been up since midnight, traveled 3 hours to have a THIRD interview with people who hate me" In the end, it worked out, but took us 3 years

Question - if you know so much about the consulate and what makes a CO tick, why are you here asking questions? You ask questions and then try to school people who have been through the consulate already(not myself but others who have posted in this thread and forum). If you already know how it's all going to go down then you really don't need help from the obviously inexperienced members in this forum.

Yes, so that's why I want to be proactive. I didn't know about the immigration process, VJ, or the support groups until after marrying my husband. I was in the ride of love (LOL). And the woulda, coulda, shoulda conversation has passed and we need to focus on doing the steps and when the time is right we will be together. I am aware that every case is different and we might go to the interview and get through it the first time. I'm more interested in the process of appealing my case, just in case. Why someone was denied isn't really my concern because when it comes to Morocco things like evidence or trips may not be enough. It's all about who's reviewing your case, how they are feeling that day, and how many people have they already denied. But a common factor that I hear about about is the timeframe. And in out case we got engaged and married quickly. It didn't seem quick to us because we are older and have been single for a long time. It's been a year since I've met my husband and he's the same reliable/trustworthy person I knew when I first met him to today and that is what I hold close, his actions, not just his words. And the support we have gotten from his family, not just his immediate family but his Aunts, Uncles, and cousin who range from being very rich to very poor has been amazing. His cousin is a famous writer and teacher in Morocco and has been awarded by the King. She welcomed me into the family and even gave us one of her homes for our honeymoon. I have know doubt of the legitimacy of our marriage our his intentions.

And I don't doubt that many people have similar stories.

But getting through a Morocco interview is an entity all on it's on. So all we can do is prepare, wait, and hope it's our lucky, blessed day.

I'm asking about the appeals processing because I want to be proactive (The Steps). I've only asked abou the appeals process. And I was asked why am I concerned so I provide examples of the variou stories I have heard and insight I received from my attorney. If you feel I'm schooling people then I apologize because that's not my intention. I'm simply trying to find out about the appeal because that's going to be the next obstacle if we are not approved. If we get an RFE, we are ready for that because we are collecting evidence along the way.

Actually no you didn't.

Didn't know US Consulates/Embassies held geography classes & exams. I'm curious, has anyone here (except OP) ever had a CO bring up Google maps and ask people to show X state in the US?

Also if the number of trips doesn't carry any weight then I would like to believe that you only visited and will only visit you husband/fiance once. If you're here often enough in the future you will come to see people paint a picture as if the CO unfairly denied/RFEed them but when you get more info about their case/interview you come to see why the CO did what they did.

Also if you know the Moroccan US consulate will deny you and your fiance/husband then why are you even trying or want to appeal if denied or provide further evidence if you get a RFE? *Rhetorical question*

Denials are NOT based on the "mood" of he CO. That is completely false. Sometimes they get it wrong (either denying a legitimate couple or approving a scam), but mostly they get it right. They are very good at what they do and have seen it all before. The process is most certainly not capricious, though people who don't understand it might feel like it is.

It is very odd that a person who is planning to move somewhere cannot point to the place on the map. It's not a question of geography of the world, it is the place the person is planning to move to in the next month. The lack of curiosity about the new home says a lot. That was a wise decision to deny on that (and, your story changed, at first you said he couldn't name the state, now you say he couldn't point to it).

Have you read the fraud warning on the Consulate website? http://morocco.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiance-visas.html

It is near the bottom of the page, "Internet Romance and Marriage Fraud."

I also of course had a congressman on our case from the first denial. They can't do much, but if you have a good one, like we did, they followed us through to the end, and made inquiries on our behalf throughout the entire process. Always let the consulate know they had interest in our case, and they wanted a favorable outcome for us. The CO's are doing their jobs. Actually, when hubby and I were getting our evidence for the NOIR ready, we had to laugh at how we were when we first met...no wonder they thought we were just blinded by love....we fell hard and fast, we jumped in, and thankfully, the love is genuine, but many times, it isn't. The CO's suck sometimes, but they see way more than we ever will.

Are you familiar with Morocco Consulate? It's one of the toughest to get through. I am part of a support group of women who are married to Moroccan men and most if not all had to go through the denial process. And all are still married after years with their spouses. But initially they were deemed fraud. And some of their spouses didn't get interviewed or asked a question. They were handed the 221g upon sitting down and that was the end of the interview. Yes, it's crazy but that's the US Consulate in Morocco. So predicting fraud isn't something that can be read about or detected with a 10 minute or 1 hour interview. That's the point I was trying to make.

In addition, the lawyer I have now informed me that he had a client years ago that worked at the consulate and did interviews. Him and his American wife hired my lawyer because the husband was aware of the in-fighting and how tough it is to get through the Consulate and he was an ex-worker. He knew the people in the office and was still afraid. So much so they paid my current lawyer to handle his case. So you can only image what other people have to go through.

Yes, I was made aware that our timeline is a red flag. So let the battle begin:).

Your description indicates that you are using dated information. The current m.o. of the consulate in Morocco is not the lack of an interview, but rather a very intensive, detailed interview, with the possibility of several interviews.

I am trying to be proactive and learn abou the appeals process. Some of you guys are killing me (LOL). I don't know if we'll be denied. I'm just trying to gain as much information on the appeals process so we can be prepared (just in case) and not be the reason for the delay in moving forward in our case. The map story was actually listed in their denial letter, "He was unable to point out where the State was on a MAP." I had not heard of this but it was one of the reasons listed on the denial letter.

And I don't know that they will deny us, I'm just trying to be proactive and prepare for whatever the initial outcome will be. Thats all.
