My fiancee will be immigrating here in a few or so months, and she and I both know it'll be a struggle for her at first. She is from Indonesia. More specifically, from the Javanese culture. How did you cope with moving here all alone, having no family or friends to comfort you? How did you cope with the new food? Did you find a way to acquire the usual food you ate back home? Is there anything that I can do to make her life any easier once she's here? Any tips are much appreciated!

Timeline

My fiancée is not here yet but I've done a few preparations before she comes here. One, I looked for the nearest Filipino store. LOL I know one way or another, she will start craving for Filipino food so it's good to know where the store is. Two, I've also looked online for Filipino communities and organizations they have on my area and I actually found two. Now, I'm part of their newsletter where they send me all Filipino related events they will have in the next months. Lastly, I have introduced her to a few of my lady friends here through Facebook and some through Skype and she's been talking to them nonstop. Hopefully, my fiancée's visa gets approved. Her interview is next month. Good luck and I hope this helps.
