I have not, but I will write one for you if you want. I can even get it notarized, I will sign it in front of a notary and everything.

I never used affidavits for any part of the process, too easy to fake.

Better to use other evidence, not things you create yourself.

These affidavits are worthless because they are so easy to fake. The people supposedly writing them have zero credibilty with USCIS. They could be written by anyone; even people you dont know.

You marrige and its foundation will be enough. Dont ask USCIS to make determinations based on anything other than the facts and you will be fine.

A personal, heartfelt affidavit with lots of details about the relationship between the person and you and our wife can hold a lot of weight. An affidavit based on a template will not.

This is what they are looking for in a sworn affidavit.

"Please provide three (3) affidavits (must be signed in front of notary/solicitor) sworn to or affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fide of your relationship with the beneficiary. Each affidavit must contain full name & address, date and place of birth of the person making the affidavit;his or her relationship, if any, to the petitioner, beneficiary and complete information details explaining how the person aquired this knowledge. The affiant may be required to testify before an immigration officer about the information contained in the affidavit.”

Here is a template.

SAMPLE BODY OF LETTER #1

My date of birth is 7/13/46 and I was born in Glasgow, KY 42141. Please be

advised that I have known (name of US citizen) since 1992, and (name of

immigrant spouse) since their marriage in June, 1998. I have entertained

them in my home and maintain regular contact with them. They demonstrate

an ongoing sound, felicitous relationship and I anticipate their marriage

will remain a lifetime commitment.

SAMPLE BODY OF LETTER #2

I am writing this letter to confirm that I have known Jane and John Doe since (date), when we met while John and I were co-workers. I served as best man at their wedding. Since their marriage, I have seen Jane and John together as a couple many times

I had a friend write a letter. She didn't follow any template, she just talked about how she first met me, how I always talked about my Canadian boyfriend, and then about meeting him. She described the way she sees us interact, and how I love him in spite of him being a pain in the #### :) . It was really sweet and funny and I was happy to hand it over with the rest of our evidence. She signed her name, gave her phone number, and had it notarized.

I don't know how much weight it carried in our interview, but the IO seemed happy to see it and set it aside to read later. (It was kind of long.)

I don't think writing a "I'm so and so, age 35, and I know these people are really married" would mean as much as the letter written by my friend.

My lawyer advised me to obtain 1-3 sworn affidavits of friends or family members who knew both myself and my wife.

She also advised me to write a "personal declaration" that described the circumstances of our meeting and a short summary of our lives together. All in all it ran for three pages and I had it notarised.

I also obtained statements from both of my (divorced) parents briefly stating the number of times they had come here to visit, how they knew my wife and children, etc.
