Hi, I just received the email from NVC with my case#VAC*************** :)

"Dear Sir or Madam,

Your inquiry has been received at the NVC. The non-immigrant visa petition you mentioned in your letter has already been entered into our computer system and assigned the case number listed in the subject line.

As part of the aftermath of the events of September 11, 2001, there are additional security check requirements for visa applicants. While it is not possible to predict when the clearances for this case will be finished by all involved Washington agencies, please be assured that as soon as the results are received, the case file will be forwarded to the appropriate Consulate General.

Regards,

National Visa Center

"

Now, I have some questions about it.

1) How long do they "finished by all involved Washingto agencies"?

2) If I want to email them again, whick case number should I provide? the USCIS one or this new NVC one?

3) Is it VSC stand for Vancouver, Canada?

4) My fiancée is Chiese citizen, she is studying in Canada from 2003 to present. She also studied in Singapore from 98-00, so, how many police reports she need to prepare? Does she need the Singapore one? If she does, it is difficult to go back Singapore to get it, anyone can tell how to obtain it from Canada?

1. You are in security/background checks and this can take weeks or months. Hopefully

you will be out of NVC in a few weeks.

2. If you email NVC you use the new NVC case number.

3.VSC stands for Vermont Service Center.......I don't know what you were refering to.

4. Ask in your regional forum about the Singapore police certificate. If they are issued

in that country then she will need to have them from all localities where she was for

6 month or longer from age 16.

If you look in the NVC forum you will see similar posts with the same email you received

from NVC.

I hope someone else can help you more than I can.

Call or email the consulate where she's supposed to have her interview and ask. I had a similar doubt and in my case I only need police reports from placed I've lived for more than 6 months in the last 5 years. Please note, this is the way the consulate here understands it, for different consulates, they might see it another way.

Good luck
