When I called the NVC on July 26, 2012 they told me our petition had been forwrded to the Embassy! I tracked it through DHL and saw that it was signed for on July 27, 2012. On August 4, 2012 I got the letter from the NVC dated July 27, 2012 saying our petition was sent to Bangkok. The visa application fee has been paid and we have a very comprehensive Packet 3 is ready to go as soon as we receive the Police Clerance which she should get this week. My fiancee went ahead and got her Martial Status Certificate even though she has never been married nor does she have any children and I got it translated which she will get this week to go in Packet 3. She has her exam scheduled at Bumrungrad this week.

So, our petition got to the Embassy on July 27, how long until they send her the Packet 3 instructions? If I sound a little impatient, I AM! I have visited her 3-4 times a year for the past 3 years so I always had a trip planned to look forward to, now I am just waiting on the interview date so I can book our flight and she can finally go through immigration with me instead of getting in a taxi!

Hello,

You do not need to wait for the packet. You can search 'packet 3' on the US Embassy website and you will have the same information. Also, if your fiancee already went to the police in BKK for the certificate, she can send in the packet 3 with the receipt. You go to the post office, pay the fee and send it EMS (express mail service). It will get there in 1-2 days and then you will receive an email from the embassy with an interview date.

Thank you. She has already paid the visa application fee of $US240.00, we are just waiting on receipt of the Police Certificate. She already has everything for Packet 3 except for the Police Certificate. She gets her medical this week. I have been told not to blindly send in Packet 3 because if they haven't logged in our peitition they will just toss our Packet 3.
