My Fiancee Wants To Pursue Another Option

notmuch88tosay,

I'm not much good advice-wise for your situation, other than to say I think all VJers should read this. You are expressing what goes through a lot of minds during this gauntlet. Our fiances are nervous, frightened, leaving all that they know behind - just for us. Will their family/friends approve? Will they fit in here? Will they be accepted? Will the person they are immigrating for still love them in a year's time? On the flip side, we ourselves worry if they won't change their minds and want to go back 'home'. This kind of dedication, just getting over here, demands a strong foundation. Too many times I've seen posts on here of people saying they 'want out' after bringing their fiance here, and it breaks my heart. I am very happy to see how truly in love, and how faithful you are to her. You are sensitive to her feelings and are extremely patient. Personally, I'm rooting for you to have a happy ending to this story. There are a lot of 'maybes' and 'perhaps' in your explanations regarding her thoughts. Could it be you just need to switch the guitar for a piano and ask your Panda to explain all that is in her heart for you...just lay it on the table so YOU really know what's going on in her heart and head? I've no doubt she loves you as well and wants to make a go of it. But if you knew exactly what her fears/hopes were, you could then make a plan and set a goal. Does that make sense? I wish you nothing but the best of luck in your journey. It seems a shame to toss aside the money/time you've already invested for the K-1 (a lot of us are frothing at the bit just to obtain one hee hee). But you must do what you both feel is right.

Best to you both. (L)

Hi Tigerflower,

Thanks so much for your kind words and advice, they mean alot to me.

During this difficult time the people who are sincere in wanting things to turn out well that are rooting for you are valued very much.

Yes, I think since the Panda does not want to play the guitar, it would be best if I ask her to play the piano instead. Then I'll learn to play the guitar later.

Thanks for your support and encouragement, it is very much appreciated.

Take care and my best to you and yours,

I wish I have your issue.

We are more than 2 month into K1 process and still waiting for NOA2.

The separation from the love one is such a painful process and this is despite I visit financee in Japan once every 2 months.

5/15/2012 Sent I-129F package

5/24/2012 Received NOA1

8/15/2012 NOA2

8/21/2012 NVC case number received

8/27/2012 Reached consulate/embassy in Japan

Hi nsxsupra,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, the separation is a painful process. I wish I was able to visit my fiancee every 2 months as you are. Be grateful for that.

We all seem to have something we want that we don't have.

The uncertainty of the end result is what makes it the most painful I think.

Best of luck in your journey and stay strong,

If you don't have anything worthwhile to add to the conversation, then don't waste my time. In other words, go away.

I guess my post eluded you as it certainly wasn't meant bad. I thought it was amusing you were basically saying the the same advice I gave you earlier. Away I have gone. Good luck to you.

Hi RobNKharen,

I appologize, I was misunderstood your post and was rude in my reply. Stressful day yesterday.

I hold nothing against you and have no hard feelings on my end.

Please accept my apology.

It seems her family issues have overridden your engagement. It would be nice to get it done as stated if you can. Maybe a trip to China and marriage would help? Good Luck

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Hi bigdog,

Great to hear from you.

Thanks for your advice and support. It's always appreciated.

I have my plane tickets and hotel reservations already finalized. I will be arriving in China in early October to marry my fiancee. Everything is agreed upon between me and her.

Just hope I can do all the legalities correctly while I am there.

In frantic panic trip preperation mode now. Maybe I will be able to throw a few questions about the CR-1 process to this forum before I leave for my trip. If not I will have my mini netbook computer with me while I am in China.

Thanks again and take care,

If you think getting the birth certificate there is fun, just imagine how much more fun it is when neither you nor your Chinese spouse/fiancee are in China. We had to mail a pile of documentation to her dad and have him get the certificate and send it back to us. At least she didn't transfer her hukou to her college like some of her friends did (I guess for some people, even a hukou in Hefei is a step up).

07/14/2012: Eloped in Texas Hill Country
08/11/2012: Mailed I-130, I-485, and I-765 to Chicago Lockbox
08/13/2012: Package received by Chicago Lockbox
08/14/2012: Priority Date
08/17/2012: Notice of receipt sent
08/21/2012: Biometrics appointment notice sent
08/27/2012: Walk-in biometrics completed
09/19/2012: Interview scheduled for October 26
10/24/2012: EAD production ordered
10/26/2012: Interview in San Antonio. AOS approved!
11/5/2012: USCIS claims green card delivered, nothing in mailbox.
12/5/2012: Service request filed for non-delivered green card.
12/7/2012: Service request replied to (but not delivered).
1/4/2013: Filed I-90, paid another $450
1/24/2013: Biometrics again...
4/1/2013: First Green Card from November finally arrived...

4/22/2013: Replacement Green Card arrived.

8/9/2014: Filed I-751

8/14/2014: Received NOA for I-751

3/12/2015: ROC Approved!

7/18/2016: Sent in N-400 to Texas lockbox

7/21/2016: N-400 delivered

Hi SBB,

Thanks for your input.

I just got my Chinese travel visa in the mail from FedEx, I already made my hotel and airline reservations also. So I will be in China soon and my fiancee agreed that we would go together to get a copy of her birth certificate, to get her passport, to have the traditional wedding ceremony and to get legally married while I am there. So hopefully she'll do everything agreed upon and hopefully everything will work out well.

I'm still in "WTH, I'm going to China... sh*t, so much to do before I go" mode.

Hopefully my trip will be as fun as my last trip was (after I get there, traveling on airplanes and in long taxi rides basically sucks).

Take care,

what size of usb thumb drive are you taking with you ?

those are useful , to use at the copy shops.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hi Darnell,

Thanks for your reply. Always great hearing from you.

My USB drive is 4GB.

Should be large enough I think. I also have an 8GB USB drive, but so far I'm not planning to take it... too many USB drives I could lose if I did.

Take care,

Gosh darn it Darnell,

You've got to let me in on these insider deals of yours so I don't miss out.

Maybe I can find a 25GB drive in China for 50 cents, just to up you one.
