Yes, I got it done twice. According to the actual process here in Ahemdabad we have to obtain the local PVC (Police Verification Certificate) from DSP office (shahibaug), then I went to apply at mithakali PSK. My passport was issued in Jan 2012 (got changed from maiden name to married name) and the address was same as compared to previous passport so I didnt get police inquiry at that time, so when I applied for PCC at PSK instead of getting PCC on the same day i had to go through police verification again. This time i didnt receive any hard copy of PVC (police verification certificate) but the guy at DSP office had to approve it online and next day i got PCC from passport office. I hope this explains well. Ask me if you didnt understand anything.

Yes I understood. Thanks for the explanation.

But I have read that you need to PCC form Local Police station from your city. I am confused regarding that document.

Yes, thats true. You need that local PCC or you can all it as local PVC (obtained from DSP office) to get PCC from passport office, at least this is the procedure here in Ahmedabad. While applying for PCC at passport office, local PCC/Local PVC is one of the required document.

If you are from ahemdabad, want to get local PCC and PVC done then I can help with detailed procedure. I do not have information about other cities. I have information about Ahemdabad as last week i got my local PCC and this week i got my PCC from passport office so I am aware about the procedure.

I am from Valsad and my regional passport office is Surat.

I have already applied for PCC in Surat on 13th Aug and they did not ask me for local PCC/PVC.

Thanks.

Yes, i WAs able to get PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) without interview letter. The documents that I was asked for at Mihakhali PSK were:

Print of Online application that I filled for PCC issuance

Original Passport

Passport photo copy

Any one addres proof

Photo copy & Original (just to show them) PVC

Copy of NOA2 letter (they asked for interview letter, but as I was waiting for it they asked for NOA2 original and I had to say that it was with my husband in USA, so finally they accepted the copy of NOA2)

I went to vijay char rasta PSK earlier but they denied to issue PCC without interview letter or checklist and barcoded letter AND original PVC. But then with the help of a VJ member I was able to get PCC issued at mithakali PSK in 4 working days.

Right now I am waiting for my NVC case number to be assigned and I am ready with all the documents. I have sent the original PCC to my husband in USA and should reach there latest by 21st Aug.

Thank you, unfortunately my husband is from Bhavnagar or else we would have gotten our local PVC as well.

I will talk to my husband again and see what he can do to get at least local PVC.

you are really a good help.

Good luck with your case.

Now I am really worried about my PCC. Why did they ask me to wait for 3-4 days? they said that I will receive SMS on my mobile and then I have to collect it. I applied for PCC on 7th August and today is 10th August. I have not received any update on it. :(

Kpatel,

Did you receive you PCC ??

If not you can check the status on passport.gov.in website by providing the file number.
