PCC for Mumbai Embassy

Has anyone gotten a Passport Clearance Certificate from Rajkot region? I believe Bhavnagar falls under Rajkot region.

Please share how you were able to obtain PCC from Rajkot Passprt Seva Kendra? Is it same as Ahmedabad? Is there walk in for that office? or is it appointment based through Online for Passport Seva Kendra?

Also, Do we really need just one PCC? Passport Clearance Certificate. Because if my husband does not need local Police Clearance Certificate then great I dont want him to go through all the trouble.

I understand that for Mumbai we do not need to send PCC with the DS230 but still I want to be prepared now when we are still waiting .

Before you send the original local police station PCC to NVC just inquire at passport office personally, they ask for original local PCC to check while issuing passport office PCC. I just got it done today at mithakali PSK so i am aware about it. Its okay if he takes with him at interview. Also, I came across a guy today from Ahmedabad who went to PSK for PCC and he was asked to get his wife's name added to the passport then only they will issue PCC. So your husband can visit PSK and inquire about the procedure to save on time. Hope this helps.

Local police will issue only one original PCC, I also asked for 2 originals but they denied. I am waiting on my PSK PCC, which i should be getting in next week. I will let u know how many they give. I read somewhere that PSK gives 2 copies, but can believe until i get it (u know how things work in India )

My husband is going to get his Passport re-done this weekend to add my name. and I am going to call NVC today and am crossing my fingers and toes, so I get my case # today. its been almost month. since they had my Petition.

Not sure, my wife's new passport was issued early this year in first week of January and she applied for PCC close to 7 months later. But still got it on the same day. You may ask for the reason at Mithakhali PSK office when you go there to pick up your PCC and update here on VJ. So it may help others as well in future.

Your cuousin's husband does not know the difference between RFE and Checklist terms.

RFE and Checklist are two different terms used at USCIS and NVC stage respectively.

RFE -> Request for evidence at USCIS. Means your case will not move forward and NOA2 cannot be issued until requested evidence is submitted.

Checklist -> It's a request from NVC to indicate what is still missing in your application. Specifically for Mumbai Applicants it is very common to get checklist email after NVC has completed your file without PCC document. It's just a notification to bring Passport Clearance Certificate (NOT Police Verification Certificate) at the time of your interview at Mumbai Consulate.

If you are not sending PCC in IV package, then make sure you are writing a cover letter indicating that PCC will be available at the time of an interview.

Now I am really worried about my PCC. Why did they ask me to wait for 3-4 days? they said that I will receive SMS on my mobile and then I have to collect it. I applied for PCC on 7th August and today is 10th August. I have not received any update on it.
