The uneven use of the terrorism classification is a little strange.

In this Sihk attack they concluded it was terrorism before the killers body was cold yet in the Fort Hood case.... they still can't see how it might be so.

Nidal Malik Hasan, USA (Arabic: نضال مالك حسن‎; born September 8, 1970) is a United States Army officer and sole accused in the November 5, 2009, Fort Hood shooting, which occurred less than a month before he would have deployed to Afghanistan.[1][3][4]

The press concluded that because the FBI sent in a squad that specializes in terrorism. The firefighters were also called, and yet nobody concluded it was a case of arson...

Fear sells lots of airtime...

Press can call whatever it wants to call… I think in the end it depends on how the charges are filed either they are filed as a hate crime or terrorism.

If 9/11 would never had happened then something like this would be always called and prosecuted as hate crime after 9/11 the word terrorism became more main stream and any such incidents are labeled are terrorism.

This event is a classic example of why such labels are silly. Call it a crime and be done with it.

You are right the label really does not matter… this was just in response to post #41 where he was just upset that other crimes were not called domestic terrorism and this was called domestic terrorism.

Clearly it is different if someone shoots 10 people than if 10 different people get shot. Stop talking to me now.

If you shot 10 and none die, all it means is you are a bad shot and used inferior weapons. Your intent was the same.

Umm... Clearly you misunderstood me. 10 different people being shot by 10 different shooters is not the same as one person shooting 10 people. If you can't see that then I have no words for you.
