Hi, I had got a mail with following receipt on July 26.

Dear petitioner,

The state department NVC has recently received an approved I129f petition filed on behalf of your fiancé. This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be farworded to the appropriate visa centre where your visa interview will takes place. The US consulate will contact your fiancé when ready to begin processing his application. Our records show that you had applied for I129f.

Name of fiancé:- xxx

INS receipt number:-wacxxxxx

Case number:-BMBxxxxx

So I called NVC Mumbai 01206611411 today. I asked if the file is received by them and can issue a case number? So he told me the above case number which is starting with BMBXXXXX is the one. I didn't believe him because, I am thinking the case number for packet 3 will be given from Mumbai embassy and BMBXXXXX case number was mentioned in the notice which I have got from NVC. Representative also asked to send email for enquiry by infousmumbai@. After I told him I am not satisfied with his answer.

Now please guys help me. Is the above BMBXXXXX number only the case number? Shall I send DS230 (pack3) with this case number? Or shall I still wait to get an email from them about the case?

Thank you.

Wife petitioned for her unmarried son as soon as she received her US citizenship. USCIS took two full years to process her I-130 only to learn it was turned over to the NVC for further processing with promises that the consulate in her country would contact her son. That was over three years ago, but we contacted them back then and were very nasty to us.

Latin American was put way behind the line, emphasis is with middle eastern countries whose citizens are helping the USA military and Africa. We were immediately given the opinion that any contact with the NVC would hurt us more than help us.

We did contact our senator that was of great help with the USCIS with problems, but when it came to the NVC, he said he was totally helpless, controlled by the executive branch. So we wrote to Obama with pleas as to our hardships that were never answered.

All I can say, is good luck, could try moving your loved ones to Afghanistan to help our military, but would have to change their race and language.

Here is what u need to do ..

1) Yes the BMB is the mumbai case number correct.

2) Call DOS and ask them if the file has reached Mumbai Embassy.---> If No Wait for 2-3 days and Call back

3) If they say yes, ask them if Packet 3 has been sent out

4) If yes, then print it put from mumbai embassy website and drop the filled packet at the closest VFS Office

5) Once u get the reciept from VFS, wait for 2-3 days and call DOS again , DOS will be able to tell if embassy got packet 3 details and if interview date has been scheduled.

Note: For Mumbai Embassy , DOS is your best friend .. its hard to get any info from mumbai embassy as everything gets routed through VFS.
