If I'm not able to join my wife for her interview and she has to fly to the US by herself is it possible to meet her at the POE and assist her through the POE processing? I'm thinking I may not have access to the processing area and she will be on her own am I correct?

Thanks for your help.

Nope. She will be behind security lines. Lots of people go through the POE with very little trouble. The questions for K1 applicants at POE are basic. Name, when are you planning on getting married,etc..... Not a full interrogation, (unless something very weird or odd going on)

It will be nerve racking yes, but your fiance should have no problem....

Edit: Oh yeah, they tell you to make sure to get married before the I-94 expires. Also, make sure you do not lose the I-94, you will need that for filing I-485.. (if you are a K1 applicant, if you are a CR1 applicant, disregard)

I scanned my wife's passport with the visa and then scanned the I-94 front and back so I would have it for AOS. She also had an exit stamp in her passport from her home country that I scanned. I just want to have these items just in case they are lost. The only way to joint her at the POE is to be on the same flight.

Good luck,

Dave

Just looked at your timeline and see you are a CR1 applicant. Disregard my statements about the K1.

The POE still will be not very hard for her. Don't sweat it. She will be fine.

We flew in together. After the initial immigration line our daughter and I went ahead and gathered the luggage / got it through customs while my wife went into the processing room. We waited about an hour at the customs exit because the line was long in there.

You will not be allowed in the processing room with her anyway.

Best of luck!
