I thought the online option was easy, and when I did it it was just the first month of that site so hopefully all the bugs are fixed. :) based from experience, it takes a while to get thru the phone.. online is fast plus you can see all the available dates right away.

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

hi i was wondering is better to call or use the website to make appointment for the interview? i ask because i prepare to get the earliest interview

any ideas?

thanks!!!

As of Friday thet were out to the 3rd week of September for an interview. I set ours up via the website, but once you set it up on the website, you can not go back in without cancelling your interview. I tried waiting a few days before picking a date, but I received a message that I must pick immediately or will be locked out of the site. I was checking too much I guess.

So I just call now everday and nothing has opened up earlier.

I would be checking both, but don't wait too long as I have seen zero cancellations/earlier dates pop up in the last 2 weeks...

Yes true..Just try your luck.. I made mine through online and I got the very late interview schedule, then i tried to call USEM, on the first attempt i was lucky to got the 10 days earlier from the date i originally have..

Aloha Everyone!!

Do you need to wait for a notification from USEM before you can set an appointment? because i tried to call today and she ask me about it, so i said i did not receive notification from USEM that i can now schedule an appointment. so she advised me to wait for it.. but im trying to get earlier appointment, maybe last week of august.. hopefully..

Do I really need to wait for a notification?

Thanks everyone!! :-)
