COVER LETTER

The format we followed for the cover letter was:

OUR NAMES

ADDRESS

DATE

USCIS Service Center address

SUBJECT LINE (I-751 Joint Petition...)

NAME OF APPLICANT, A#

TABLE OF CONTENTS

OUR SIGNATURES

** We didn't put how many pages there were for each evidence section but we did put tabs on the bottom to make it easier to find a particular document.

PICTURES

I believe we included about 25 pictures printed on 4 or 5 pages plain white cardstock.

MAILING METHOD

We sent our packet via USPS Express Mail with Signature Required

Thanks now I have two more if you guys know the answer.

We are applying for myself and my son. He will be on my i751 as he came at the same time. Do I write one check for 675? (505 for form then 85x2) or do I write two checks? (one for the 590 and then one for 85)

How did you attach the checks or what did you do to ensure they say put?

I don't know the answer to your first question since we only filed for me (we don't have children) but we wrote just one check for my filing fee and biometrics. :) Hopefully someone in a similar situation can post about this.

RE: your 2nd question, we paper-clipped the check to the front of the cover letter (we used 2 paper clips to make sure it didn't shift or get dislodged inside the package). ^_^

Can't answer the question about the check either, but we just used one big binder clip and clipped the whole thing together with the check on top.

Oh yes, we also used a jumbo binder clip to keep everything in the packet together. We used smaller binder clips to separate each evidence section from the other. :)

1) We didn't put our address

2) Only my husband (USC) signed but my A# was at the top.

3) Yes, I used post-its

4) We only included about 8 pictures total with dates and brief description.

5) We used Priority Mail Padded Envelope.

About the check I don't know but I clipped mine (mine was Money Order) to a blank sheet of paper then placed it inside a plastic sheet with a post it on it.

My mother-in-law is photocopying the last pieces of evidence for us whilst she's at work today. So I'm hoping that we can have our application sent off on Monday.

But I was just wondering, how has everyone organized their evidence? I have split mine up by year (2010, 2011, 2012) but would it have been better to organize it by category? Like all bank statements together, all tax returns together, all rental agreements together, etc etc.

We did it by category. Started with residence, then financial, then insurance then miscellaneous and photos.

I think either or is fine. We did ours by category.

We organized ours by category and by year - most important evidence first then all organized chronologically.

Thanks now I have two more if you guys know the answer.

How did you attach the checks or what did you do to ensure they say put?

Read the I-751 guide for instructions and also read Gary and Alla's interview with the assistant director concerning i-751 filings. I found it to be really helpful.

Yes, $675 is the correct amount if you and your son are on the same application. I made out one check and attached it with a plain old paperclip. It's been cashed so I know it worked.
