After you send his I-175, you will receive your NOA1 shortly. The NOA states that he is allowed to live and work in the country for a year. If he travels after his GC expires, he must carry the letter

I know this is probably a dumb question, but I just noticed when updating my timeline on Visajourney that there's a section for interview date. Will I be called to an interview? I've been aware that it might be a possibility, but I don't recall reading many people mentioning going for an interview for Removal of Conditions so I didn't think it was an actual requirement.

Can anyone clarify whether it is or not?

It's not. They just have it on the timeline since it IS a possibility, so that if you do have one you can put the date there. There's also a spot for interview date on the AOS timeline & we didn't have an interview for that :)

I remember when I was applying for my K1 visa, and then going through AoS ---- I was here constantly. But this next step has felt so much less stressful than what's come before. Perhaps because I am here in America with my husband now, without the added stress and heartache of distance. I guess I checked VisaJourney a lot more often when the process was so much harder.

It's not. They just have it on the timeline since it IS a possibility, so that if you do have one you can put the date there. There's also a spot for interview date on the AOS timeline & we didn't have an interview for that :)

Thanks for the clarification. We didn't get an interview for our AoS either, although that makes me wonder whether we'll be more likely to be called for an interview this time around. I had wondered whether AoS interviews are mainly to clear up any confusion or doubts over an application - but wasn't sure.

I hope the next step in our journey goes smoothly for everyone here.

Any advice I've seen given on this subject seems to suggest that that's all you need to take with you. I can't think what else you could take - although hopefully there is someone here who has traveled with a green card that was due to expire, and can give more accurate information.

Hello All... I am going to be traveling soon and I am just a little nervous...as the green card expires next month...so just to confirm... I just got back from going overseas, and am slightly unique in my situation. My GreenCard was Stolen, so after I had my extension letter sent to me I hadto go to the USIC office and actually got a temporary stamp in my passport (anI551). As I came though border control, they took me out the back and I wasasked to wait for 5 minutes while they do a formal check of the green cardstatus to ensure all is correct and nothing is out of the ordinary – a few computerchecks, on name / number / DoB/ passport number etc. They said they do this for all stamped visa,or expired green cards (with letter). It was nothing major, and I can understandwhy they do it, just means you have to allow for a bit more time when goingthrough immigration.Hope this helps.

I just wanted to check-in to say hello and see how everyone was doing. Waiting this time around is sooo much easier...::SIGHHH:: Thank god!

So, I went to USCIS to see if our file had been touched and just saw that on 10/24 it was touched -- hoping it means a speedy turn-around. Has anyone eles had their filed "touched"??

Definitely so much easier this time around. Now that the application is sent off, I've barely even thought/worried about it at all. (I just hope we get everything approved by summer, as I'd rather travel with a valid greencard instead of having to take the expired one and our receipt)

I didn't know it was possible to find out whether USCIs had "touched" our case! How do I do that?
