hi, i m so confused.i m on opt ,my company apply for my h1,i got approve email from USCIS,but i didnt receive my offical letter.now my company wants me to find another job in 2 weeks. my question is once i get letter from USCIS, i will on h1 or still on OPT? my second question is between that i need to go india,only if still i am on OPT? how many days you can be unemployment on h1? when will officially i will be on h1? if so, my company can transfer my visa to another company b4 oct1.

So the company that was going to employ you no longer wants to employ you. You would need a new employer and a new Visa.

Agreed, if your company no longer wants to employ you, your H1B becomes void and if your OPT has expired as well, you will fall out of status requiring you to return home. The H1B is good only as long as you are employed with the employer who sponsored you
