Does anyone know how long it takes to get a US passport for a baby, her father is a US citizen.

where was the child born? If in the USA you can use the express service which will take less than 2 weeks.

If born in Jamaica he will have to report the birth at the embassy there. The amount of time it takes will depend on if they ask for DNA test because they do that sometimes.

without going the DNA route I think it is about 3 months.

Hope someone who did it recently can tell you about it as well.

Oh thank you all but can it be expedited ? And yes the baby was born in Jamaica and I already reported the birth but I'm waiting on her birth certificate so I can complete the process.

Once you have the birth certificate(BC) in hand, you can file for a CRBA which is covered in the guides at the top of this page. When you file the CRBA, also file for a US passport at the same time. You should also consider filing for a Jamaican passport, since the baby is a dual citizen. You can do this as soon as you have the BC.
