This may seem simple to some but my mind is gone people. Okay here it goes. I need to know how did people handle the flight plans for traveling back with their SO's.

I mean I have to fly there right did you get a round trip and than hope and pray there's an extra seat on the way back when you booked their flight after you got Visa.

Or did you get a one-way than booked two tickets when you got Visa.

I know seems simple to you. Help me please as I am now at NVC and looking at how their timing is I am looking probably at a November interview who knows these days.

Help me out Vj peeps.:help:

This might be one of those times when a flexible ticket is the best approach. A bit more expensive up front, but considering the uncertainity in this process in may in fact be cheaper than having to pay a rescheduling fee a couple of times should the time table slip. Just my $0.02.

Good luck as your journey is just about over,

Dave

How much is the two way ticket??

How much is the one way?

If the difference is alot.... U might wanna stick to the cheapest

and again with the 2 way, you might be lucky to have someone switch seats with you guys on the plane.

Try find the cheapest one way and compare prices.

Good luck!

Remeber that AP is common so it might be months before he can travel you may want to leave your options as open as possible. I am not sure if you have the freedom to wait out AP if it happened. Compare a changeable ticket with the reschedule fees on a regular ticket. It may be cheaper to reschedule.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Just once I'd like to read a thread without seeing some type of "negative" ####### thrown into the middle of it. How discouraging that you just can't get a straight answer delivered or just bump POSITIVE ideas off of each other and see if they work. I like to say for all of us still going throught this process, if you just can't bring yourself to encourage or uplift anybody, then please stop replying to our threads because you are discouraging our journey. If that gets me kicked off of visa journey, then so be it. But I'm here trying to learn and encourage others coming in behind me.

Debbie, this is a great question and I hope someone hops on and tells us what they actually did in this situation and how that worked out for them instead of what "might negatively happen" to keep us from getting our husbands home. I'd really like to know myself because IF MY HUSBAND GETS HIS VISA IN THE THREE WEEKS I GO HOME TO SPEND WITH MY FAMILY, I'd like to have him fly home with me. How do I make that possible?

If you don't like honest and highly probable answers to Lagos then maybe you should stop reading VJ responses. It isn't the land of easy and there are a lot of bad things that can happen. I know personally that nothing there goes as planned. If you want happiness and friends I would suggest you try facebook. More and more Nigerians are getting AP and it would disrupt the flow of getting to the US and should be part of smart planning. With it being an unknown you need to allow extra flexablity for the event. DIfferent fare rules have different penalties. Open tickets are not always the cheapest route.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

how do you know more and more nigerians are getting AP, have seen alot of nigerians getting approved and getting their visas in one week or two weeks if there was a delay in processing the visa......

3 years ago AP was unheard of in Nigeria. Then there was the underwear bomber and for a while almost all men were getting AP. Now it is not a must and isn't as long as MENA ones, but it is still significant. I have been around VJ for longer than most and have closely watched the things going on. I also know what is happening within the local Nkanu people off this board.

I hear and feel ya Nigeriaorbust truly I do. And I have read about every warning and post you have done since I joined 14 months ago.

I know your warnings and admonishments have helped some.

I know its tight but its right. This isn't Canada or UK we are dealing with and as my friend told me from The UK since the scammers have turned it up a notch and are perfecting their game so must immigration and the Embassy.

I know I have tried my level best to girt up all we need to show what we have is real and true. I had no idea when I stayed in Nigeria(so not planned) that it would be a plus but Yeah me!

Lately it has been very positive coming out of 9ja with approvals for K1's and spousal visas of course I realize that's only in the VJ world. But right now that's my world and the rest don't matter. ;)

But I just wanted to wrap my head around flights and how people do that. Since I have landed in the NVC blackhole my brain has gone numb. So thanks all for input I guess an open ended ticket for me and a one-way for him when we have Visa in hand is what's on tap.

I know AP is a possibility but let's not think that. Positive vibes people.

**everyone do pop over to my post on "mandatory 21 days" would love to get peoples views**

I popped over

So if you have no AP you are probably looking at 10-14 days ( given that the infernal visa printing machine is in a good mood) Call the airline of your choice directly. Sometimes non refundable tickets are still changeable. It may be cheapest to buy non refundable but changable tickets with an initial return about 2 weeks off from the interview. Ask IF you have to change them what the fee is ( usually a couple hundred) and if you have to specify a date when you change or if you can put them on hold. Different airlines handle this differently.
