Should I go to the interview with my husband?

My husband has his interview in 10 days. I was wondering if I should go with him since I am here but I wear hijab so I'm not sure if that would be a good idea?

It does not matter specailly for DOS employee, they are well versed in all culture.

Are you sure that you are allowed in the embassy in Bangladesh?

Hijab is not a problem. My wife wears Hijab and they didn't give her any hard time, they were very cordial with him. It would probably be nice since you are already there.

Just to make sure you are allowed, send a email to DhakaIV@state.gov and inquire about your case. Mention the Your Husband's name and case number in the subject and say you want to attend and if it is allowed.

In sha Allah it will be easy.

I've visited citizen services many times and the ladies there have been great help to me with questions I had and they said it shouldn't be a problem if I wanted to go with him since his appointment is very early in the morning (7:50am). But I'll email and make sure again. Thank you so much for your advise.

If embassy is okay with you being present, I would say go. Even if this don't make any difference, I am sure it will provide moral support for your spouse. However, I am not sure if they would allow you to be in the interview room at the same time, but that should not be an issue at all. If I had the chace, I would :-)

I'm so nervous for his interview. It has already been a year since we started this process and this time I'm hoping to take him back with me.

Getting nervous at this point is not going to help anyone. Don't want to sound like a wisea$$, but look at it this way, if you are nervous, imagine what your poor spouse is going through. Be positive and supportive and give him the confidence. Trust me, if you have done your chores, this would be a piece of cake. Don't get a heart attack if by any chance he gets into AP. If you are not aware of AP by now, please know that AP (Advance Processing) is pretty much mandatory for all males of certain countries and unfortunately Bangladesh is in that list. However, though I've seen very few coming out without AP, but this is pretty much for granted. How long AP takes, hmmm, 1 month to 1 year or more.

Please don't think that I am trying to scare you or give negative thoughts, rather saying be prepared knowing what could come your way so you don't get surprised. I wish all the best for you and your other half. Just know, being positive is a key part on on the interview process. Check some of the experiences of people lately to get some idea.

Yup, I know all about AP and hoping and praying for the best. And you are right I should be positive and supportive and we've prepared ourselves mentally if the result isn't the way we hoped for. Allah knows best so we've done all we can do so I guess the rest is up to him.

Thank you so much for your support and the embassy just emailed me back and said I can go with him but its up to the CO if I can sit with him during the actual interview.
