Hi everyone,

I'm moving through NVC faster than expected. I'm sending off the AOS package tomorrow and want to be sure I have the correct info on a few key points. Just for background, I am the USC, currently residing outside the US with my husband. We will be moving together once we have the visa in hand.

- I have all of my income info, most recent 1040 and past tax transcripts. Can I sponsor my husband on assets alone, house, car, savings, etc or am I required to have a joint sponsor? My mom has filled out the forms and is willing to help us but if I can on my own, I would rather do that

- With the AOS package I will provide evidence of my intent to reestablish my domicile. I am using a house and car that we purchased, utilities being turned on, proof that I maintained a US address, bank accounts, drivers license, etc. Does that sound like enough?

- I have my barcoded sheet from NVC but didn't find a checklist or list of specific information. I am putting together my own cover letter with list of inclusions. Did I miss a list from NVC or am I going about it correctly?

- Lastly, how is it best to assemble the package? Paperclips? staples? anything?? Anyone have feedback on what they like?

Many thanks to all of you for your help! I'm sorry if this was all covered in on of VJ's great resources!

My mom has filled out the forms and is willing to help us but if I can on my own, I would rather do that If your income is superior the poverty line according to your state and household, you shouldn't be need one, but if you want a piece of mind, have a CO SPONSOR. A joint sponsor is a co-sponsor's sponsors. Basically a thirds 3 sponsor for your husband wich is not necessary

- With the AOS package I will provide evidence of my intent to reestablish my domicile. I am using a house and car that we purchased, utilities being turned on, proof that I maintained a US address, bank accounts, drivers license, etc. Does that sound like enough? Sounds enough for me, but if you have any doubts check the i864 instructions

- I have my barcoded sheet from NVC but didn't find a checklist or list of specific information. I am putting together my own cover letter with list of inclusions. Did I miss a list from NVC or am I going about it correctly? If you check the STEP BY STEP GUIDE FOR I485 you will find the entire list of items you will need to send with your package, you can find it here

- Lastly, how is it best to assemble the package? Paperclips? staples? anything?? Anyone have feedback on what they like? I dont know what they like but I sent my AoS package in a 3 rings binder, it is perfect cause you buy de plastic sheet bags and looks neat and very well organized. Must of my documents doesnt have any staples. I highly recommend this way to present it cause they can look through it like a book, and thanks to the fact that plastic sheets are transparent, they will not have any issue trying to find your paperwork. And I use my cover letter also as a Index, so is even easier for them to work with my package. I guess they like IT, cause I did it with my k1 package and not only I didnt recieve a rfe but also I was approved in 3 month and 21 days :)

Many thanks to all of you for your help! I'm sorry if this was all covered in on of VJ's great resources!

Talia

the best of luck Talia, I hope you will find it helpful :)

If you have tax transcripts for 2009, 2010, 2011 you don't need 1040. They prefer (NVC andEmbassy) tax transcripts has everything and well its proof you filed.

Paperclips no staples.

The other stuff I will let the experts answer (that assets and all that don't know sorry).

Thanks for the info. I'm stil not sure if I can sponsor my husband on assets alone. Im currently overseas with him so my income will end when we move.

Without a continuous source of income, can I sponsor him alone?

Please help!
