WRIT OF MANDAMUS - what we can do if our cases are current but not adjudicated by USCIS past current processing times

Give me a break. Someone says that as a government employee they would deliberately work slow in an effort to waste taxpayer resources, I say I'm glad they aren't doing that anymore, and my post is the one that gets deleted?

I'm still glad that that guy isn't deliberately wasting taxpayer money and working slow out of spite. I am against wasteful government. If you want to ban me for saying that, go ahead.

The actual comment was that if he were faced with an accusatory and demanding individual he would also work slower in reaction to that type of aggressiveness, not that he would slow down in order to waste taxpayer resources.

Regardless, while you are allowed to object in general to the issue of government workers slowing down as a means of protest, you are not allowed to make personal attacks and insults against another Visa Journey member which is what you did and why your post was removed.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Good thing you didn't have to wait 18 months on a green card. You'd have stroked out.

Congratulations, though - seriously. It is a relief to be done.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

Thanks for the congratulations!

Looking back, it seems I have been impatient and should have just relaxed and let the decision arrive.

To be sure, if RFE response was logged in I would dutifully wait at least 60 days before even inquiring of status on 800 line. That was what concerned me. I thought either response is not properly received or it's not accepted because I can't produce record of my non-existent arrest. INFOPASS where I was told to wait 120 more days probably was a deciding factor in exhausting my patience. I thought my case would not be even touched until 2013.

I deleted any negative wording from my signature and moderators, if appropriate, can and should delete posts where out of strong emotions that took best of me I used inappropriate words against the individual in charge of my file.

Whether he made innocent mistake as new officer or was overly cautious, it doesn't matter now , I feel zero negativity towards him and wouldn't want any rebuke or reprimand happen to him , just in case if anyone ever reads and realizes which individual it was at the office who was involved in processing of my case.

To my Honorable Senators I am infinitely indebted , although I have no assurances that their inquiries had anything to do with decision being made and whether it was just a lucky coincidence, still, less than a week after contacting their offices decision was made. It is possible that their inquiry caused my case being looked at and if so then there is no word that can describe the sense of gratitude this fills me with.

I can now be proud of living in this country and having a privilege of petitioning the highest offices of the government seeking remedy redress or help and they actually responded! I was not even an LPR but they responded to my letters and promised to do what they can and they did it !

And I am thankful to everyone of you who participated on this thread, those who tried to help and share words of encouragement and caution as well as those who were critical of me , latter are also appreciated because sometimes you can help me do best what I can't - tell me how my words and actions perceived from a different point of view.

To those of you I may have inadvertently offended - please accept my apologies!

To ALL OF YOU - BIG BIG THANK YOU !!!

Congratulations.

I'm well aware that this process sends even the most grounded of people at least a little bit crazy. Congressional intervention certainly helps though, for cases that are outside of normal processing times or have had some other USCIS mistake incurred on them.

My congressman's office told me to expect a decision within 30 days, and there has already been movement since my I-485 was transferred to VSC on Wednesday. Here's hoping I have the same successful outcome that you did.

Thank you Hypnos,

For the words of encouragement and understanding!

Am also of the opinion that Senator's office was of great help to the outcome.

I do hope that your case gets decided soon and you also find a relief at the end. 30 days is not a long wait and when you get the decision to post and update , I want to personally congratulate you as well.

Happens to a lot of people here on VJ. Unfortunately, because of the emotions, they are unable to accept the advice the veterans here who have been through the same.

In all fairness, guys...

I now know I could have been more patient, but do not jump to conclusions too fast, anyone in my stead would be stressed. Read I-485 Part 3 C 1.b and instructions to it and why I got RFE, you will understand my frustration when I was told to wait for 120 more days after RFE response to get any update on a case status.

Anyway, decision is already made on the case, so that's now a past chapter, I will focus on future and leave the past in past.

May be I will chime in from time to time to advise posters in similar circumstances to be more patient and not get too frustrated about it, moderators can close or keep this thread open if anyone wants to keep posting about WOM.

I am done with this thread now.

Thank you everyone for posting.

Hypnos and bigdog - THANK YOU FOR KIND WORDS!

Hypnos, don't forget to update of your case status,

wish you good luck with it!
