My wife has extremely thin skin on her fingers and her fingerprints are hardly visible.

We received our first biometrics appointment letter in early June and did a walk in at Santa Ana, CA 2 weeks before the appointment date.

Her fingerprints were unable to be read by the machine. This caused us a lot of stress wondering what will happen next.

We received a second biometrics appointment letter 2 weeks after the walking. We did the walk in Santa Ana for the second time. Again, her fingerprints were unable to be read by the machine.

A couple of weeks afterwards we received an interview appointment letter for July 31st. During the interview, the very friendly IO said that since my wife could not be fingerprinted, we will need to get a local police visa criminal record check letter. She gave us a letter to send back along with the police letter and said that as soon as she receives the police letter, she will approve the AOS application.

We went to the local Police Department who took around 5 minutes to generate the letter, we sent the letter back to USCIS the same day.

We should get the green card pretty soon.
