Ok, I said I wasn't going to comment anymore, but you have just contradicted yourself, you said the children were in education all school year and they travel with you, now you are saying you off year round service, how can you do this if your children are in school?

If you are not being paid how are you surviving and what do you mean paid in kind?

You give very cryptic answers, is this because you are aware that USCIS agents have been known to look at these boards?

cryptic only in understanding of a person remote from biz: your undertanding is that year-round effort means to never ceaze travelling. One X-mas Break vacation may take 11 months to arrange, my dear friend.

I REALLY WANT TO STICK TO subject: Obtaining Status of Abuser. Very important subject for so many victims

Honestly if you were doing this post for the benefit of others I could understand it, but you're not, you're doing this for you and you alone.

I am not denying you're in a tough position, but to help a person properly we need to know all the facts upfront, when information comes out in a trickle and only once it has been dragged out of you then it makes it very hard to believe and be supportive.

That being said, I wish you the best of luck with your VAWA :)

Sandra, the questions raised by other posters are indeed on-topic, because those posters need this information to fill in blanks and so that the OP can retain some credibility in their minds.

I wasn't going to say anything, but this thread (and the OP's others) are like a bad tape-loop: we can't believe what we're reading (or we wanted to, but are losing faith in its veracity), yet we can't stop reading it, because there's the hope that the OP will prove to be credible enough to be worth paying continued attention to.

He can do this by forthrightly answering questions that others have, and he can continue to damage himself by DEFLECTING such questions (semi-arrogantly) as being "off-topic." YES, he seems to be taking admirable care of a couple of children; and YES, it's become clear that he's an illegal alien; and people here are STILL striving to find a way to believe him. That they are expressing their doubts is an indication of their wish to believe. This is to their credit, rather than to their detriment.

My next suggestion is made with full sincerity: Because it's clear that you believe the OP's story and wish to support him, and even though you're admittedly not an immigration attorney, why not volunteer (off-line) to represent him, for fee or for free, and take this rapidly train-wrecking saga off-line? It will solve the frustration that you and he are both perceiving in a thread that's rapidly degenerating because of legitimate doubts and walls arising on both "sides." Si, man?

Also, Obtaining Proof of Spouse's Status is remaining the main question in this topic. I have everything else in hand for referral to DV agency/attorney (I estimate before the end of Aug), and I'll do DNA by then. So:

1. Obtaining proof of Status

2. Timelines/consequences of divorce

No, I mean real experience of NY divorce. Or someone who has seen thoughtful NY divorce discussion and could provide link, please.
Amigo, as stated: search for it yourself. Google is your friend.

TBoneTX I don't volunteer to represent him because I am representing 124 people in Vawa cases(pro bono)right now, at least 15 people here from VJ, but his case demand a lawyer with some extra time and I don't have this time available right now, otherwise I would volunteer without any problem.

Understood, and sincerely commendable. Perhaps you can direct him to a colleague or acquaintance, because support for him (excepting yours) is waning here.

singledad in your case you can file a "Motion for alternative service" and you will be eligible for a "Divorce by Publication". The publication must be once a week for three weeks, she will have 30 days from the service by publication to respond. If she fails to respond then you can schedule a hearing.I would say the divorce will be finalized in four months. It takes a while to set up a hearing.
