Sandra, personaly I don't care how he survive, what I do see is alot of holes in his story, which as juror I would find it hard to believe this story in it's entirety(sp). Once one part of a tale start un-raving then the whole story falls apart.

I focus on details as they have been stated, not on asumptions. SD, didn't have to say any of this but he choose to put these facts out on a public board. As a lawyer, wouldn't you try to focus on what parts of a story could lead to more questions before you try to convince the juror that yout client story is the absolute truth.

and that's why I appreciate you guys grilling me, that helps. I aknowledged that fact many times. The only bad deed can be maliciously causing topic to close. I try to have discussions that help others. It took me hundreds of futule attempts to discover just one thing: that events before Abuser's LPR do count! And before an hour ago, I didn't know my case may be expedited due to Jr's specific disabilities. And honestly, I didn't know I could ask my caseworker to facilitate free DNA test, without obtaining court referral

singledad as I said before the Vawa Unit wants to know if the extreme cruelty happened when you were living together. You said you disagree, but who cares, lol you need to focus what the Law states, not in what you think is right, fair enough?. The Law is clear "...abuse must have taken place during the marriage".

Life's journey I know what you mean, but mental abuse the person needs just her own affidavit stating every single event of the violence in details and some psychological evaluation.Of course it helps if he can get some affidavits as well, but he has restraining order against her, a open case with social services etc...he is good.I saw people having Vawa approved with less than that. The Vawa Unit have 25 adjudicators and they are very well trained, those guys can smell lies 1000 miles away.

My main concern is if his wife became a green card holder. It's not mandatory to be a LPR or US citizen when the violence or mental abuse happened, but it's mandatory to be an LPR or US Citizen when filing form I-360.I handled thousands of Vawa cases. I didn't see his papers tho, but for everything I heard from him if she is an LPR or US Citizen his Vawa probably will be approved, and even if USCIS deny, I doubt, I am convinced he can win his case in Court. A friend of mine she got her Green card through Vawa after 16 years fighting in Court, but when waiting the decision she was able to work, to drive, just not to travel abroad, but finally Justice prevailed in her case.

Sandranj, I love links and read all 7 pages. You mean "during the marriage" ONLY means while spouses live under same roof? Separate habitat is no longer considered "during the marriage"?

Singledad separate habitat is no longer considered "during the marriage" for immigration purposes.

If you love links then enjoy this one here, lol(30 pages).

They mention "upon request, DHS will attempt to electronically verify abusers’ citizenship or immigration status from their computerized records".(page 19)

I didn't think I had a path. We don't have TV. I've stumbled upon VAWA, when Senate passed re-authorization but Congress didn't - and the internet headline count spiked one day. One of my algorithms prompted me to read... If you noticed, I kept asking about 2012 re-authorization like a maniac - and no one seemed to get excited. Only then I realized that VAWA's been around for like 18 years...

My occupation allows me to operate internationally via internet. Nobody in the US pays me. Sometimes fellow scientists overseas might throw me a bone.

You'd be surprised how some facts that seem obvious in hindsight - totally elude people in real time. This is one of paradoxes that statistical science is full of. I never paid attention to VAWA's existense, all people who've been on this forum for years were sure that only Abuse by already-LPR was Abuse, I never thought DNA tests were free and easy, you think that Disney vacations absolutely must cost $1,500-$3,000 - when I've offered them for years just for the price of fuel. That's why even my caseworkers panicked when I suddenly didn't renew my DL - I'd made so many of their clients happy

So now you are telling us you charge people gas to go to Disney World and you earn money from overseas, so you are not really struggling financially as such, have you declared your income to Child Services, I mean your income from overseas?

You have obviously had the income to pay for DNA testing in the past, but never did anything about it, I don't think it's right you should get it for free when you have an income from overseas and you're probably not paying any taxes in the US or in another country.

Can I ask you a question, is the state paying to house you and the children and paying for food for you (not your children)? If so I think what you are doing is wrong, you have an income and yet you are taking from people that don't.

I am afraid I become quite skeptical and I don't think I will post about the OP's situation again, none of it rings true anymore.

Having an income and having to pay tax is not the same thing.

Obviously housing and food etc have to be paid for.

Sort of interested in the free accommodation and free tickets for Disney. Is this some charitable programme they have?

You're not on topic here, you might have helped someone else's topic - but not mine. So it's ok if you stay at someone else's topic, really no big deal to be announcing your move.

I've been around academia most of my life, and we were always fascinated how Mathematicians and Physicists could never understand each other. Some of the greatest minds of human civilization - and so clumsy socially!

No one has been paying me for work I currently do. I'd been paid in kind if lucky - but not every human being knows what "kind" is.

Boiler, what I have achieved re:Disney is one of the things I'm most proud of. So many families have cherished lifetime memories I've made happen. By definition, this niche would be a very crowded space, I'm not aware of anyone else offering it, I put tremendous year-round effort into it - and have received Mayoral recognition to hang on the wall. What can I say: back to procedure

HAS ANYONE HEARD OF citizenship ceremonies (in my case Garden City, NY) records. By my calculation, Abuser might have been a party to the ceremonies this or last year
