Intelius offer of 25c People search will expire this week. It's my understanding, that once you buy this report for 25c, you're also allowed one Premium search for 25c. Maybe someone has insight on a number of issues I anticipate:

1. Intelius warns that NY state doesn't allow them to disclose Divorce info(?)

2. for Employment history, Intelius goes thru TalentWise - who unlikely to charge only 25c(?)

3. Background Check, although may be available for 25c, doesn't seem to have anything connected to employment history or immigration(?)

Why don't you research Intelius? There's a limit to the irrelevant hand-holding that can be performed here.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

My question is not how to deal with Intelius - of course I can get the most Intelius can give for 25c. I've underlined Intelius limitations, in hope someone knows better sources.

Search for individual's information is a very important subject for thousands of mistreated spouses. TBone, your participation is only welcomed if it's intended to be helpful

What did your Lawyer say, I am sure they are fully up to speed.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

You haven't really mentioned anything your lawyer has said in regards to all of this. And if I remember correctly, a few weeks ago was when you were all set to go see a pro-bono lawyer.

So what's their take on all of this?

ACS conference in Aug did refer me to legal clinics to help file Termination of Mother's rights, order of protection, divorce, Birth Cirtificates correction and immigration. Two law firms granted me appointments second half of Sept. I have prepared everything required for VAWA application, which can be expedited based on my son's medical/psyc. But I can't initiate anything with Vermont until I've verified wife's LPR or USC. Based on her Asylum Grant letter (I have copy) of 2002, she was theoretically eligible for LPR in 2007 and USC 2011-2012, but I need proof she did adjust

I would bring forward those meetings.

I'm just a guy seeking hints. Now, one takes time to write to the forum with the (most direct) helpful link: google.com

Another one: what was this advice below?? Ask for earlier meeting OR bring this question up to lawyers? Either way, I'll share personal experience re: lawyers. Some are better, some are worse - but all of them are busy buddies. I'm not sure yet what my first meeting with pro-bono lawyer will yield. Of course, this is one of the questions I'll bring; but I also have a whole wheelbag of evidence to bring. My case has 12 years of history: bona-fide marriage, living together in 3 countries, concluding in over two years in US; two births, 10 investigations by ACS of child abuse: 3 found indicated against mother, 7 unfounded against father; 10 years of childrens medical and school history (including special ed); 3 DV arrests of me all later dismissed, 1 DV arrest of wife, her guilty plea and 13-months service under Mental Health Court jurisdiction; a year-and-half neglect hearings, 10 years of ACS conferences; affidavits; translated birth and marriage certificates; AND two proofs still to obtain: un-dissolved marriage and spouse's immigration status. It took me months to put all evidence in order. I can't imagine how a pro-bono attorney with one hour appointment allotted to me can sort all this. I know that if I'm not pro-active - this could turn from a 99% solid VAWA file into an evidential disaster

I would bring forward those meetings.

It's great you have all that information to present but you are putting the cart before the horse. The things you should be focused on 1. Is your wife currently and LPR or USC 2. Has a divorce ever been granted and if so when All the rest of the information you have means nothing if you can't resolve the first two issues. You have been given advice here as to how to start discovering finding this information and your attorney may have some ideas also. I suggest you buckle down and spend some real money in obtaining this information as it directly affects your future and the future of your children.

The evidence is meaningless without you being able to confirm her current status and whether or not she divorced you.

It's admirable that you're putting so much into building a tower of information, but you're missing it's foundations. Without the foundations that tower is going to collapse around you and the only ones that will suffer are your kids.

OK fellas, I don't exactly understand what motivates you to do your postings: to remind me why I opened this topic?

I'll remind you of my VJ-ing: when I first learned of this website and posted my case for advice, I was told by 99% of the well-meaning membership that I had no VAWA. That the children who were born and lived all their lives here had to be up-rooted, and in the short order, no less! Or given up to the State, no less!

Then after several hundred of posts, and a few topics shut down by targeted personal attacking - suddenly a Eurika moment: VAWA doesn't require that abuse took place by an already-LPR!!! As long as abuser-spouse lived with you in the US during abuse.

So I open new topic: how to obtain proof of spouses status. And so far:

1. Naturalization is PUBLIC INFORMATION (albeit LPR is not)

2. Databases (not sure if SAVE is the only one(?)) exist, and are accessable by many thousands of authorized users

3. Lawyers may be able to obtain quick info, not exactly clear what lawyers associated with what DV, non-profit or other networks

4. Lawyers may also be able to obtain it in relation to particular purpose(?)

5. FOIA query on newest naturalizations would take 3 months thru USCIS - but are there other vendors?

And here is what I'm trying to find by myself: if I can see SSN trace or spouse's employment history - that would give me a 90%-proof idea of immigration status. Now, this info is available way more massively - as there are many PeopleSearch databases peddling it. So that's where I'm now: ideas on massively prolifirating databases. After all: I can't imagine that OCSE that had me appear in Support Court as their witness a dozen of times (to a futile result: zero Child Support has ever been collected, or even a single in-person trial has been accomplished) - can't get any info on dead-beat's whereabouts/employment history, or immigration for that matter!! They managed to serve her only once - in 2006 - and then let her off the hook based on her perjured phone testimony
