I am preparing my documents and planning to send my docs to USCIS sometimes this month. My co-sponsor filed his tax jointly with his wife. Does that mean that the man who is the one sponsoring us will file I-864 while the wife files I-864A since they both filed tax together?? Please note that the man income alone is more than enough to sponsor. I am just worried about the joint tax thing.

What times of the month do you guys think is best to submit papers? Ending of the month or earlier in the month? I am asking because I want them to process it on time.....lol. Thanks all.

That's what we did, just to be on the safe side. Our joint sponsor's income was more than enough, but he filed taxes with his wife, so we asked her to fill out an I-864A. It went smoothly.

Good luck.

"If a sponsor filed a joint tax return with a spouse, but is qualifying using only his/her own individual income, the sponsor must submit evidence of that individual income. This evidence would include, for example, the sponsor’s own W-2(s), Wage and Tax Statement, and if necessary to reach the income requirement, evidence of other income reported to IRS which can be attributed to him/her, usually on Forms 1099"
