Hello All, I am new to this site, I am a US Citizen and I applied for my wife's CR1 in october last year. My wife had her interview in Islamabad US embassy yesterday, and after the interview they gave her all the original documents back, (we had not missed anything) and kept her passport. Then they gave her a green sheet called administrative processing, and said the case will undergo further review, and it could take 2 months or maybe more! Furthermore they stated they will not entertain any phone calls or emails. So i am using this company called rapidvisa, and they said to use my state's senators to inquire about the AP, I called and emailed them, and so far have not heard back from them. Now i am so frustrated and disheartened, I heard men generally go in to AP, not women, is it because of common names like ahmed? Thats my middle name, but my wife's name does not even have it, except share my last name. I am desperate, and I am not sure what to do, can you guys give me any advice/help? Should i get an immigration attorney involved?

HasbunAllahu wa nimal wakil.

The interview was yesterday. Relax a bit.An attorney can't help you. Your senator can't help you.

Thanks Anh map, the thing is i have been reading on these forums and others that some people have spent years in AP, and its scary, I think its generally men who have a longer time in AP, but the fact you never know how long it could take, thats really nerve wracking. So i saw some people write to senators, where some say it helped, others not so much, I guess i am just trying to plan for the future and figure out options...God willing it will be alright

hello,

lawyers cant help you out, senators may be but that doesnt work for many people.

Just calm and pray your wife will get her visa soon, dnt worry women are generally in AP fo shorter time but you are right you you never know how many months...did you try to figure out why did they put in AP i mean age difference, finacial situation of petitioner, name check or due to some girls who wear hijab they do AP..

I have my interview this month and hope to get the visa soon because I can realise this time jut kill the husband wife.

Regards,

Sarah

I can understand your frustration and can empathize with you entirely. However because you just had the interview there isnt much to do but give it time. More than likely her visa will be issued within a few months. They have been putting more women in AP lately in Islamabad but they still seem to finish their cases long before the men's.

Because you just had the interview you will find it difficult to get a senator involved this early. Usually they ask for you to give them a call about the 5th month or so but i doubt you will have to. Lawyer wouldnt be able to do anything the senator wont except he can charge you loads of money to do what you can get done for free after the 5 month.

All you can do is be patient and let them finish the work. They will and while it may take a few months the end will be worth it.

Wishing u well...

Thanks Sarah, they didnt give her a reason as to why it went into AP, she does wear hijab, and we do have an 8 year difference in age, but alhamdulillah financial situation is okay. Is there a way i can figure out why we are in AP? The letter they gave her said they wont enteratain phone calls or emails. InshaAllah I am praying that the AP goes by quick, and she gets approved, ameen. InshaAllah you get your visa right after the interview.

Thank you so much EAbbas, yeah i finally got a response saying that after 6 weeks if you dont hear anything, then we can ask on your behalf, but in the mean time just wait. I pray she gets approved before that time comes inshaAllah, i guess I will have to just tough it out in the mean while. I really want to know why they put her in AP though, is there a way to find out? because they said they will not entertain any phone calls or emails.

Sorry, I keep bugging you, I went to the website https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx to track the case, and it says "refused" for the immigration application visa, is this the current temporary refusal because of AP, or permanent refusal. I am starting to get paranoid because now i am afraid the visa will be refused. God help us, please advise, thanks

:) no worries!!! It's temporarily refused until their AP is complete.. when they finish it you should see a change in that status if it's working properly

Don't take too much stress... it's going to be ok

Dear Bro,

you dnt worry, I have a feeling your wife will get the visa soon may be in one month, i previously wrote to someones thread about my friend who was temporarily refused without any reason. My friend is a pharmacist so they just wanted to check either she was involve in any research paper or not.for temporariry refusal they give green paper.

Further, I have noticed since many days those girls who wear hijab goes to AP which is just frustrating, wearing hijab is ones own decision and its about our religion, I dnt know why the hell they link the hijab with bad intentions... thats simply rediculous.

I pray your wife will get her visa in days only. InshaALLAH.

Regards,

SZ
