I have a question regarding the best way to go about this. My friend is in Afganistan right now as a traffic and transport supervisor. His term will expire in March, he is a cilivian from Ghana. He would like to come over to the states to work. What forms are needed for this? How do we start this process (I will help). We will be married later but currently we are good friends and mostly want our relationship to start out slow with him actually getting a job here in the states first. I will move to where he lands a good job. I will sponsor him if I need to if that is the way we need to go. Please help

Does your friend have very special skills or college education? Getting a work visa will be very difficult in a time when many americans cant even find a job. Good luck in your journey.

Realistically his best chance will be marrying you and then you petition for a spouse visa on his behalf.

Sorry, he is one of the millions that would like to come over to states to work. Easiest way - as other pointed out - would be through marriage.

Should we get married in Ghana or another country other than US?

That is totally a personal choice....doesn't really matter where you become husband and wife as long as you receive a valid marriage certificate.

Oh, yes. The anxiety is massive. Everything gets thrown up in the air, nothing is certain and the financial pressure only adds to it. I've only been at this for a few weeks and already my anxiety levels are huge.

Married a US/UK dual national in 1996 and had four children together.
Immigration Timeline: I130 Approval November 2012; Interview July 2013; Immigration October 2013. (Note, however, that we chose to stall the process for personal scheduling reasons)
As a family of six, we relocated from Argyll in Scotland to Pennsylvania in October 2013.

I applied for Citizenship in October 2017 and am currently waiting for an Interview date.
