I've not ever read about hormone imbalances causing homosexuality, but who knows. It could just be that post-war children felt less inhibited about coming out as gay because so many of them didn't have a father figure around to suppress it. (that is a completely wildass guess on my part.) But sure, it's not out of the realm of possibility that a gene is manipulated due to some chemical exposure. But I seriously doubt that's going to be the reason in the vast majority of cases.

And again...whatever the reason, nature or nurture (it's nature), in the end it doesn't matter. Even if a person has convinced themselves that homosexuality is a choice, they should treat them as they would anyone else. Gay tolerance and gay marriage are civil rights issues, no matter what the science is behind it.

I was careful to state that I was just expressing my own opinion based upon personal experience. To be sure I am not an expert. The hormone studies are easy to look up though. It is thought that they change the brain chemistry during fetal development. I really have no idea what causes it other than the fact I am very sure someone doesn't become gay due to outside forces or worse yet a conscious choice. It is a part of who they are at a fundamental level.

Some behavior is genetic. Genetics plays as large a role in human behavior as environment. I will disagree with you till dooms day that homosexuality is a choice. It is most definitely not. They are born that way.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe it is different for different people?

There are gays who Claim they did chose, one was an actress not long ago.

People are born with all types of inclinations some are healthy some are beneficial some or bizarre and destructive, being fascinated with the torture of animals from the earliest memory means what?

If we grew up in a culture where it was perfectly normal to have sex with your siblings...... don't you imagine a lot more people would do it if it were seen as normal?

There are a lot of factors which shape our minds and especially our sexual desires and impulses, it is so complicated...... I am stunned how some people speak of it in such simplistic terms.

But why limit yourself to just Gays, there are sooo many ways to express love and sex, why not just call it "sexual Rights" this way we can include every form of sex... and lets not allow old taboos to limit us on any of it, that way we don't have to keep going through this.
