I never heard about jail time once you didnt finish the contract.. As simple as this she can apply work.. Then once the visa is ready...resign.. Besides its hard to find job here in the philippines even college graduate having hard time. She will be ok even she find a job and leave early..

I agree with you

Nothing in this world worth having comes easy.

yes the jobs have contracts and fines if you leave or quit within contract time etc. But if she is leaving to the USA then good luck with them actually doing anything about it. It will never happen. So tell her to take the job of her choice and not worry about it.

I worked in the Philippines running a PEZA Company so we followed the DOL Laws to the T. Contract breaking is never a good thing however it is not illegal at all. It depends on her work and whether she plans on working elsewhere in the RP whether breaking a contract is a wise choice or not. My fiancee has been working for 5 years in the Philippines as a Teacher, Fast Food and Cashier. She said as long as you explain to your Supervisor as you hand her your written resignation then all will be okay. She even resigned prior to her Teaching Contract expiring as her family needed her closer so she moved back to Bohol. And last time I checked my fiancee is not in jail lol

I am currently working here in the Philippines. There are such contracts where you are binded to work for the company for 6 months and like what some of the posts mentioned in here - they can renew that contract. If they are not able to complete the 6 months - you won't get jailed for it. Document will say that you have to pay xxx amount of money when you do not finish the contract. However, the money that they will use to process everything (attorney's fees, etc) will be far greater than what they will get from you. So in the end, they won't sue you for that.

If she really wants to work, during interviews - I suggest to not bring up plans of leaving the country as this will work against her.

If she does gets the job and would have to resign - I suggest to render 30 days prior resigning so that she and her employer can work on a transition of things to be done.

Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Itried that, but her parents want her to have work experience for at least a year in the Philippines.

You are being manipulated. Two posts, two red flags, and both of them leave you scratching your head.

We were more concerned with direct applied bedroom experience and suggest you pick a fiance with the same inclinations. :)

How old is your fiance if you don't mind me asking? She is her on person. It isn't up to her parents if she needs a job or not. She is going on to another step in life, that is being with you. So why should she have to worry about getting a job? My fiance wanted a job so bad when she quit working in Qatar, so we can start the K1 visa. She was used to making her own money. It took alot for me to convince her that getting the visa IS HER JOB.

Also depending on where she lives at, there is ALOT of hassle trying to go up to Manila and back for certain stuff. Do you think her "work" will allow her to take off that time? Probably not is my best guess. So it's up to you, but I would definantly tell her NO.

I find all that rather suspecious myself. Most family members are pretty happy and excited that she is working on her visa to be with you. So for her parents to do that, it doesn't make sense at all.

Let her get a job, get the NOA2, go to the interiview, get approved, leave the philippines and the job. Its that easy

oh wow someone got slap in the butt   :bonk: :bonk:

For the OP i was thinking either she trying to rush you to bring her in the US or she's trying to delay the process...and who knows why?? (ONLY HER)

Anyhow....she's your fiancée. You supposed to TRUST her. But by asking this question...I think you need to do some investigation :D

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!
