When I mail my packet of documents to my fiancé, does he need a copy of the NOA2 letter or the original letter? I’ve heard it both ways, so I’m just wondering if anybody knows for sure what is required.

Also, in my packet of documents I have a copy of my birth certificate and copy of his birth certificate. Or do they require originals or a certified copy?

I sent you a PM. :)

No, copy of NOA2 is not needed. If you want to include it anyway, you can do it.

Whatever you do, keep the original safe! You will need it for AOS and if you lose it, USCIS will charge you $500 for a copy that will almost take 3 months to get to you.

no need to send copy of NOA2. No need to send whatever wasnt included in the original petition. The file should already have either your birth certificate or your passport copy to prove citizenship. its is recommended to give your fiancee a copy of the original petition and let him take it to the interview because you do not know what can happen on the day but its optional. the main things they want to see is outlined on this page
