It's certainly not the beginning and end ... but public presentation is meaningful if you are going to be in the public.

Most presidents and other high-ranking polticos aren't possessors of hot bods. They ARE in possession of bodies that reflect their age and their state of health. Hillary is in her 60s -- no one should expect her to have a smokin' set of gams. There are of course exceptions to the rule in the world at large, but they are largely in the entertainment world, where power and prestige is more closely tied to appearance. Hillary and Michelle look age-appropriate. Sarah Palin looks age-appropriate. Sarah and Michelle are and look like what they are -- middle-aged moms who take care of themselves.

Ultimately women should no more be judged on their looks in politics than men should. Has anyone called Ron Paul a looker? How about Biden? Does anyone say that they think Mitch McConnell is a hot mess because of his jowls?
