I'd be afraid to do anything with it, if I were you.

My suggestion would be to call them and tell them what happened.

It is possible to receive an EAD card without fingerprints, but it is very rare. I have seen this happen once or twice before where cases have been pending for months and months and the local office has not had any fingerprint appointments. How long have you been waiting for EAD?

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:

I have sent all the documents to USCIS mid June 2012 and received EAD today.

I got fingerprinting appointment 10-12 days after USCIS received documents from me.

I would not say that I was waiting long time.

My wife's fingerprints are almost invisible and were unable to be read at biometrics on 2 separate occasions. She was approved for EAD without any probles, and the card does not have a fingerprint.

At the AOS interview the IO just requested for a local police record letter in lieu of the fingerprints.

Did you guys travel on this card abroad?

Hello,

Small update it might help someone in the future.

I have spoken to three different attorneys about missing fingerprint on EAD.

They all told me that this is perfectly ok and it happens.

On USCIS web page I have founded:

Q.  Are employment authorization documents stating “Fingerprint not available” acceptable for Form I-9?

A.  Yes, these are still acceptable documents for Form I-9.  “Fingerprint not available” means either that the card was issued before fingerprinting or the press print may have been waived.

I-9 form - Employment Eligibility Verification

So I guess it is ok.

Thanks, Tom

Hi people. I just read that the AOS is taking 9 months to complete, can I get some feedback from those who have recently been granted to see if this is accurate. It sounds like a crazy amount of time before I could even start applying for work.

Thanks

I think it's accurate if you're adjusting from K-1. But you might want to check the other forum:

That's where other K-1's are. :)

Is it normal that my employment authorization card was sent to me before USCIS took my fingerprints?

I have I-140 and I-485 pending at this time.

Thanks

I have heard of people who had EAD issued without FP.

I don't know if it's normal or not but occasionally it happens.

I-485/I-130 filed: January 26,2012 (130/485 sent to Chicago lockbox, transferred to MSC, field office Baltimore, MD).

I-130 Approved: June 25, 2012

I-485 RFE issued: June 25, 2012

Contacted offices of Honorable Senator Ben Cardin and Barbara Mikulski at the end of July.

I-485 DECISION MADE on August 03, 2012 , LESS THAN A WEEK AFTER CONTACTING THE SENATOR'S OFFICE TO INQUIRE ON CASE STATUS!

I-485 WELCOME NOTICE RECEIVED IN MAIL: 08/08/12

Green Card in Mail: 08/11/12

I filed early May and got conditional approval this week. Less than 3 months. My wife's fingerprints are very thin so she could not be fingerprinted at biometrics twice, so the IO who interviewed us asked us to get a local police record check letter and will approve the green card as soon as she receives the police letter, which we mailed in the same day.

hardly a likely possibility but would biometrics taken at Border Control apply to this?
