Dear fellows, I am a new member in this beautiful community of VJ. In fact, my fiance came for a visit for the first time and we had great time together, so when she left about a month a go, you know how it feels like anyway,I applied for a tourist visa to the USA to visit my fiancee back about twenty days ago, but unfortunately I was denied ;as a result I was devastated and so was my finacee because I thought I had a chance to get approved. Afterwards, we thought about starting fiance visa (k1) procedure and now she has already sent the package. I was wondering if the fact that me applying for a visa and got denied would affect our future K1 application in the future especially during the interview? I would appeciate your help, comments and guidance, thanks.

Nope. Tourist visa denial will have no impact on your K-1.

** As long as you weren't denied for something that would make you inadmissable into the US (criminal, having certain infectious diseases that kind of thing). If it was just a denial due to your lack of home times or current ties to the US then that will have no bearing on your K-1.

Thank you for your prompt reply, It was just a normal denial with a paper in hand that says I did not express strong ties or did not show enough evidence.

My wife was denied a B2 tourist visa. She had no problem getting both a k3 and IR1 spousal visa.

**** filed K3/CR1 concurrently. My wife and I both work/live overseas. The following timeline continues from the approval of the K3 VISA.

What do you mean?

They wont bring it up and if they do you can show them the form with your denial reasons.

Tourist visa denials are very common, especially of you have a significant other in the US. It just means they didn't think you would come back to your home country after you got your visa.

Thank you Xanax and thanks to all of you for your unconditional help, you just make me feel better. I am wondering if anyone has been denied a tourist visa then was approved a K1 !

yes we also applied for a tourist visa and was denied in 2007. nothing was mentioned about his tourist visa denial during his K-1 interview in 2011 and we were approved for K-1 visa.

Just make sure that in the immigration paperwork where it asks if you have ever been denied for a visa that you do disclose the denial. The denial won't be a problem - but failing to disclose it will. Good luck on the K-1.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

One more question, Do you think this issue of denial can be addressed in my interview for the fiance visa?

We also were denied a tourist Visa and later were approved for a K1 Visa. It will have no baring on your case.
