Hello everyone!

My wife had her interview today, August 2nd, in Vietnam and was approved! Her actual interview time was quite short, only about 5 minutes. She was asked about how we met (we worked together) and where we worked. After that she was approved so now we are just waiting for the courier service to deliver her passport with visa in it and for her to book a flight back to the US.

Everyone here has been very helpful, thanks so much!

Good luck to all!

Don't worry, be happy.

Hello everyone

I've a question, our case was filed on 13Th February 2001 and we received a checklist response from NVC on 14Th April 2011 , at the time when our petition was filed I was 11 years old and my brother was 16 , so will they consider us from that date when our petition was filed or from current date. Thanks

the priority date is 'locked' for you.

can study about it ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Can someone please explain to me why does my receive date change everytime I call (maybe I shouldn't call again). First it was July 31, Than it was July 30th. Now I call It's August 1. And of course its you must give us 20 business days to enter into the system from August 1st. So they are saying August 28th I will hae a case #!:help: . Are the for real. What exactly does NVC do. Do they also scan our case? This is beyond frustrating since they had lost me for 30 days. Here people who just are getting NAO2 are gettings cse#'s. Okay I am done ranting. Happy 1st Friday of August to us all. :hehe:

I can and I am not even a superhero! I asked the same question here on VJ, and NOBDODY could give me the answer! So I asked the operator at the NVC and was told there are now two dates they have on file before you get a case number.

The first date they give you is the date the NVC was notified your package was sent to the NVC. Then the second date is when they actually recieved your case. Then about 15 to 20 business days later the NVC will manually put it into there computer. It is not scanned. (This is when you get your case number.)

This should be part of the FAQ that the OP has. But she most likely needs more time to make sure this is true because she does not seem to know at this time?

By the way, We just got our Case Number. AND, we got our Invoice Identification Number. then I gave them our email addreses.(all in one phone call)

the two dates we got from the NVC before our case number was: July 9th and July 13th.

from my understanding, in the past, NVC only gave you the second date(July 13th)

Well thank you. It's sad. Gosh approved 6/29 and 8/ is my rceive date. Didn't even leave CSC until 6/27 arrived at NVC 7/30. Unreal. But I have had 3 dates given to me. Oh well. The guy did say they have an overflow of I-130 Petitions from the centers are are very backlogged. Here's to overtime and weekend governmental work.

Brad, congrats on the interview and approval!!

And Congrats on getting your case number Denise! I thought it was in the FAQ, well, it was mentioned in last month's thread anyway. Anyway, congrats and best of luck!

Hang in there Deb, at least you know it's there! I must admit it could take a while to get a case number...for example for me it took 3 weeks for NVC to get my case and then another 2 weeks to get my case number.

Well, late last night I FINALLY submitted everything! My husband and I both had crazy days at work and since the information wasn't all ready to go it took way too long to get everything sent off...and I am scared about getting an RFE but you know what? I'm just happy that everything's turned in and now I will just pray that it goes smoothly! *breathe!*

I'm gonna give it a week before I start calling the NVC about it. In the meantime, I've gotta work on my Mexican immigration stuff... Oh yes, the fun continues! :)

Good luck everyone!
