Our AOS package finally got to NVC (took a little bit of phone tagging with courier services), IV was marked paid and sent half an hour later, but because it's Friday night it won't get to NVC before Wednesday. We're getting (somewhat) closer to the end.

Darnell , Jamaicam Luv still nothing for me. Of copurse it's only 24 hours since I first saw the database error. Got it again today (Jamican Luv was that you. So here we go into a new month of NVC filers my 3rd month Good grief. That NOA2 seems so long ago.

How long does it take them normally to invoice the AOS?

right now I'd say 8-10 days

After the AOS has been invoiced it goes pretty quickly from there, right??

Sort of, depends on your luck and how fast/diligent you are about sending the packages.

Sheesh! I've been waiting for a case complete from the NVC. Instead, today I received a checklist from them. They want a police certificate from India, where I was born and lived until I was 21.

The thing is that I am no longer a citizen of India, since I lost citizenship automatically when I became a Canadian citizen last year. And India does not provide police certificates to non_indian citizens who live outside India. The State department acknowledges this on its website.

I wrote this in my cover letter when submitting the IV package. But today I got this checklist asking for an Indian police check. Immediately below the request they provide information on how to obtain one, but state that these are not available to non-Indian citizens applying for visas outside of India.

So... catch 22? I guess I should call them.

Did you call everyday asking for your case number...I ask because it seems like you are getting invoiced faster than most so I'm wondering if you had your case number a lot earlier than Aug 24th but didn't know it.

If you called every day and the 24th is accurate, I may get invoiced on Monday

Every second day, but I did clarify with the guy I spoke to (since he was being nice and helpful), when my case number is allocated. That's why I listed the 24th.

Does it make sense I don't have an IIN yet? I asked for that and she said it hasn't been generated yet, then she asked for my email, which I gave her, and she said it'd show up in my email.. that's right, right??

Do Please Read Post #2 from a PC, this weekend. That's the homework I'm assigning to you.

Just got an email this morning that they have received the AOS file and it will take 20 business days to review. It took them 5 business days to receive the email.

The IV file was sent out last night after the status changed from IN PROCESS to PAID.

Now here's my prediction for Cousin Acto ..

Thursday of next week, you'll have a case complete.

Monday of the following week, you'll have the emailed appointment letter.

you can do whatever you want,

but

all is predicated on payment.

pay something? SEND SOMETHING !

order of IV vs AOS not important, for sending.

If its invoiced and paid - you can send them in whatever order you want. People send the AOS first because it is usually invoiced quicker first .
