I would think the embassy can answer general questions, but oh well. Wait until your case gets to them, then try asking again.

And wow, a year is awhile. You need to discuss with your spouse what you want to do, either have them come to the US with their visa and be separated for awhile, or they move to Poland with you, messing up the regular visa process.

Yes, you can front-load your application with the IV package.

Front load? U lost me. Lol i can make copies of what i have? Now i do have a card from him from our anniversary... can i just copy or send it in? I don't wanna lose it :(

Front load means to send proof of relationship evidence in the IV package so the officer can review it before your interview. In tougher countries, a lot of the officers already have made their decision on whether to approve or deny a case before the actual interview. To help with that, people from those countries "front load" their case with plenty of evidence to show the officer their relationship is real.

Yes, you can send copies instead of the originals. Just bring the originals to the interview to show, if requested.

Hi vjs!

i would like to know your opinion about my case, my wife the the petitioner but she is still a student she had never an income and her parents are going to support us so she fill out an i-864 form and her mom an i-864 form because she is the the joint sponsor and her dad fill out an i-864a form because he is the household member (co-sponsor) they are all living at the same house. but we are still confused about some stuff! here is our questions:

1)on part 1 question #1 what should we mark on my wife's i-864 and my mom in-law i-864 ? we have told to mark a for my wife and d for my mom in-law since my dad in law he is just contributing his assets to my mother-in-law!

2) on part 3 question #8 what should we mark on i-864 of my wife and i-864 of my mom in-law ?

3) on part 5 question #21 what should we mark there since there is only four person at they household (my wife, her brother, her parents)

Thank you all!!

1. Yes, that's what I would suggest.

2. They'd both check the box in 8, as well as 'Yes'.

3. I believe for your wife's, the household size would be 2 (her and you). Then for her mother's, it'd be 5 (I'm assuming here that your wife and her brother are still dependents of the parents, if not, then the household size is less). I'm not entirely sure on this. You can try calling NVC to confirm with them. Make sure you call at least five times though, as the operators' answers may vary.

thanks sayling for answer!

tell me please on my father-in-law i-864a on part 2 question 13 should we print my mom in law name or my wife name ?

He would put his name there, as he's filling out the form to help sponsor.

but he is filling his name as a household member on part 3 question 15 ?

Oh, whoops, didn't see that blush.gif I'd say the mother's name would be in 13 then as the I-864A is part of the mother's I-864.

4 weeks, 2 days since case completed at NVC and still no interview date. My husband is beginning to think it means he won't get the visa. I am trying to stay positive for his sake, but it is very discouraging. :(

There are many of us in the same boat. Tell him that it is now taking about two months for IR-1/CR-1's to be scheduled. It will come soon. Hold fast and have faith. You've come a long way and it is just about finished.

Saylin, why don't you try to get a job at NVC??

I would love to, but I'm assuming you need to be a US citizen to work there. Plus, my husband wouldn't want to move to New Hampshire (although I definitely wouldn't mind).

sayling! does my wife have to fill out question 24 on her i-864 even is she had never worked or only my mom in-law ?

Yes, even if her income is $0, she still needs to answer every question on the form.

Yay, that's awesome! kicking.gif Tell your wife hello from me :)

Just checking in. Still at NVC after a bogus RFE for a birth certificate... waiting for a second review to confirm it is, as requested, a properly certified copy. Sigh.

Hope everyone else's journeys are going well.
