Just got notified that I passed a rigorous recruitment process and have been selected for a position in ... POLAND!!! Now what do we do?

I wouldn't have to start for 3-4 weeks to prepare for the move, but I don't know what to do about the visa process. We've already spent 7 months processing all the paperwork and are in the final stages. Can we still continue with the process?

If we haven't received our interview date for the embassy in my husband's home country (Senegal), can we request an interview at the embassy in Poland? If we wait for the interview in his home country and he gets approved, how long will he have to make POE in the U.S.? Will he need to do another medical exam before POE?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm scared to call the NVC with the questions for fear of further delaying the process. Maybe I'll give them one more week to schedule the interview before I start bombarding them with all these questions.

Any suggestions would be helpful!

If I were you, I'd just continue with the interview process as normal and get that visa! Focus on what you'd have to do afterwards. There might be a change of address or something like that. Remember once you have the visa you can go to other countries, but to keep it you can't be out of the U.S. longer than 6 months. Good luck and congratulations!

For your questions, typically, you have 6 months to do POE. The expiration date is on the visa that'll be attached in the passport. He won't have to do another medical as long as his visa is valid. You might be able to extend the expiration date with the embassy, but I'm not quite sure. The questions you have would be better asked of the embassy, not NVC.

How long would you be staying in Poland to work?

Thanks! It's difficult to ask the embassy, rather to get an answer. Whenever I send them an email, they just refer me back to NVC because they have not received our case yet. Until they have our case I don't think they will be able to tell us anything. And who knows when they will have our case.

It's a one year contract in Poland with the possibility of renewal.

I would think the embassy can answer general questions, but oh well. Wait until your case gets to them, then try asking again.

And wow, a year is awhile. You need to discuss with your spouse what you want to do, either have them come to the US with their visa and be separated for awhile, or they move to Poland with you, messing up the regular visa process.

My husband was asking me if we can send more evidence with the NVC papers since its going to the embassy anyway, or is that a big no no, and i should mail the rest of evidence i have to him?

Yes, you can front-load your application with the IV package.

Hi vjs!

i would like to know your opinion about my case, my wife the the petitioner but she is still a student she had never an income and her parents are going to support us so she fill out an i-864 form and her mom an i-864 form because she is the the joint sponsor and her dad fill out an i-864a form because he is the household member (co-sponsor) they are all living at the same house. but we are still confused about some stuff! here is our questions:

1)on part 1 question #1 what should we mark on my wife's i-864 and my mom in-law i-864 ? we have told to mark a for my wife and d for my mom in-law since my dad in law he is just contributing his assets to my mother-in-law!

2) on part 3 question #8 what should we mark on i-864 of my wife and i-864 of my mom in-law ?

3) on part 5 question #21 what should we mark there since there is only four person at they household (my wife, her brother, her parents)

Thank you all!!
