She must've been the same operator I got around 9:30 this morning. She wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor.

As suggested by Darnell, I tried to get a supervisor to look for my email, but to no avail.

So I fired off an email with "SUPERVISORY REVIEW with my case number" subject line.

Let's see if I get a response.

She is soooooooooo ruuuuuude. It's like, if you hate your job that much GO FIND ANOTHER ONE. Jeez.

Case complete! Thanks to all on VJ! Waiting now for our interview. There are so few people here from our embassy it's really hard to tell how long we should expect to wait. I hate calling every day expecting to get nothing. But I need to know as soon as possible since our embassy is in another country and requires expensive travel.....any words of wisdom??

If you want to know right away, the only thing you can do is call every day :)

Good to know. My wife is getting her medical physical tomorrow and then will get the police background check (she'll be including certified copies of those documents with the rest of the paperwork being sent to NVC). So I guess the packet will be mailed off soon. I was kind of hoping the NVC would send something detailing me exactly what to send them just in case I have something wrong, but I guess not. I'll just hope I don't get a RFE from them telling me they need something else.

NVC has what you need to include in the IV package on their website: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

We submitted our DS-3032 on 8/13, more than a week ago now. How long should I wait before contacting NVC for a status on the acceptance? Suggestions?

I submitted DS-3032 on August 14th, no status yet. Hang in there, it is coming. Some case, I observed, it took 12 days for DS-3032 (username = REELS July Flier). AOS bill also took him 10 days.

For my case, I start to see some sights. When checking https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/ there is an error message "You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information" I think they are entering information into my case.

So check again by the week ends.

Yahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a question you guys. All the dates (issue date & stamps) on my PCC are in the dd/mm/yyyy format (which is how dates are written in my country) with the exception of my birth date which is in the mm/dd/yyyy format...I guess the system generated it that way when they listed USA as the country the PCC is for.

Will this be a problem for me? Because the issue date of the PCC is July 5th 2012 but its written 5/7/2012 & since its only valid for 3 months I am worried NVC will consider it as expired.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have any pros/cons of using an attorney throughout NVC?

Let me brief by saying my case deals with "illegal presence" (on hsuband/petitioner's behalf) so we'll have to file the 601 and we ARE using an attorney for the 601.

For NVC, the only benefit of having a lawyer is that the DS-3032 isn't needed (as the attorney is automatically selected as agent), thus the two bills are invoiced at the SAME time, thus saving about a week.

But if you have an I-601 to deal with, the attorney may be a good idea.

4 weeks, 2 days since case completed at NVC and still no interview date. My husband is beginning to think it means he won't get the visa. I am trying to stay positive for his sake, but it is very discouraging. :(

Well, Saylin, as you know (but probably already forgot which is totally OK considering this is, what, the 45th page of this thread??) -- I fired our previous attorney one week before the i-130 was approved. I hand wrote a letter and handed it to the officer at my final infopass, detailing that we had fired her and leaving my contact info for processing there on out.

The attorney I'm using for the 601 says she wants to file NVC docs for us to prevent any further mistakes (the ex atty made 8 mistakes, HUGE ones).... I'm not sure what role an attorney could play in NVC and I'm nervous I'd lose control and would be stuck waiting for her to contact me when NVC contacts her. You know? That I wouldn't be able or have the control to call them every day and get everything I need to get myself and make sure it's off on time myself...

These are the times in your situation that it is most valuable to get a lawyer that is very verse in waivers. Not ust a immigratuon lawyer. So yes for the 610. Not much for a lawyer to do at NVC.

Having an attorney at NVC would only mean that they would pay the bills for you and that they'd send the packages. So, they'll be the middle man between you and NVC. Some attorneys will let you call NVC and ask for updates whereas others don't. You need to discuss this with your new attorney about how they work.

Personally, IMO, I think having a lawyer/attorney at NVC is just a waste of money. It's pretty easy to file the two forms and include the correct documents. But having the attorney for an I-601 process would be a good idea. You don't want to screw anything up with that.
