Haha they are sticking to that 10 to 20 business days like glue. So just brace yourself and still call everyday.

Yes once you have interview date it is sent out via DHL to your embassy. They may tell you we sent this date not sure.

That's the date NVC sends your case out to your consulate/embassy. This is done AFTER an interview date is assigned. You can find out the date by calling an operator.

For the petitioner I-864, if the USC is currently residing abroad with the beneficiary, should the USC put US or Australia for their "Country of Domicile"?

It took 6 calendar days in my case for the switch from paper to electronic to take place, so what you are experiencing is not unusual. In your case, the switch should occur sometime between now and the end of the week.

I believe you need to put the US on that question, as you're planning on going back to the US. Then, because of that, you'll need to provide proof of re-establishing US residency with the I-864 package. There's examples of such in the second post in the FAQ, around the AOS section.

Edit: If you read the I-864 instructions (pages 5-6) it talks about country of domicile. If you haven't read it already, I suggest reading it.

I did, but my wife demanded a second opinion (which you have so kindly provided, thank you).

We are going to move in with the in-laws to start with. We have bank account statements/insurance statements linked to their address so I believe that should cover us.

Well, we also meet your suggestions as far as her maintaining her licence, car, etc. all listing her parents address.

Her father is co-sponsoring under their address too..

It's been 4 business days and 6 calendar days since I emailed them the OPTIN email + DS-3032. I should have received the acceptance email from them by now. I see people getting it in just 1 day (according to their signatures). I'm not talking about the DS-3032 acceptance, just the shifting of the process from paper to electronic. I need that GZO number to get everything moving again.

Suggest you call in to NVC, get a supervisor, and ask them to chase down your OPT IN EMAIL.

Things will stall without it. Last month, OPT IN acceptance email was same day, next day. When Ryan went through it, it was 6 days. 3 months ago it was upwards of 8 days..

Remember - Don't waste time on the first human that answers the phone. Yer an EP Case headed to Guangzhou IV, and the NVC TeleOperators are clueless about EP. You could train them, but it's sorta like teaching a pig to sing. You'll feel the futility, and it just annoys the pig.
