Called today again still no case number..... Am I suppose to say something specifically besides asking for the case number????

No, there either is one or there isn't. Let us know the date that the NVC recieved your case as that will give you a rough idea on when your case number will be available.

I'm expecting mine next week based on them receiving my case Aug 10th (although calling every couple of days just in case)

So how long is it usually till they,assign a case number? They,received case same say as NOA2 which was on aug. 6. Still nice case number..

10-20 business days although based on the fact that someone in this thread whose case was received by NVC on July 30th has theirs, you should have yours any day now.

Please post when you do (including the Aug 6th date for reference)!

Yep sent and have told husband about end of week watch his inbox like a hawk for acceptance or whatever. I hate i don;t get an email also. Isn't that the whole point of the DS-3032.

Also addresses the posters quote from LingChe's a lot has changed at NVC since that shortcut was written. Since it takes a good 1 to 2 weeks before they even review or look at your email you already have it there and you are in their system. Its al about timing.

Yes indeed. And the timeline needs a new entry for case # assignment. That is becoming a major this now adding 2 weeks. Gosh this whole NVC use to be 1 month tops goodness.

And God help people who don't even know to call. Man

Yayyy they received my case!!!! Do I call every day until they assign me a number??

Also, I fired our atty a week before our i-130 was approved. I hand wrote a letter stating this and gave my address/phone number. I wonder, will NVC send my paperwork to me or my ex-attorney?

You can although it seems to be taking at least the minimum 10 business days. You can see my timeline below, I call every 2-3 days.

The next form you need to submit will allow you to change to address (View the first post in this thread and the email instructions). Good luck.

Out of curiosity, can you reveal why you fired your attorney?

Someone said NVC e-mails you your case #? I don't think they have my email address (I don't remember entering that on the i-130 or the G325A)... hopefully they see that handwritten note telling them to send all correspondence to me at my physical mailing address.

I fired her because my i-130 sat at local office for 4 months before being approved. When I went to my first infopass after it has been transferred, she stayed for all of 15 minutes and then left before I got to the counter. I kept asking her to contact the local office to inquire about my case and she said she would but I never heard back. I hired another attorney to accompany me to my last infopass and got approved next business day. I actually fired her a week before our last infopass and come to find out she made 8 mistakes on our i-130 and my husband's G325A (she said he used my name, said he was born in the city I was born in and said he used my SSN)..... thank goodness the officer accepted a letter from her correcting all her ridiculous mistakes.

Anyway, I basically fired her because I didn't trust her enough to do our i-601. She botched my husband's bond, didn't help me set up our wedding at the immigration jail he was detained at and just overall didn't care.

17 BUSINESS DAYS I CALLED THIS MORNING AN THEY STARTED ASKING ME QUESTIONS... I KNEW THEY HAD MY CASE NUMBER THE AGENT YESTERDAY TOLD ME TO CHECK BACK IN NEXT FRIDAY.... DON'T GET DISCOURAGED WITH WHAT THEY TELL YOU... JUST KEEP CALLING TWICE A DAY ONCE IN THE MORNING ONCE IN THE AFTERNOON

See congratulations. Oh what a feeling. Now its like what now what now why aren't i invoiced yet. Send off the DS-3032 now. And have all your documents for AOS and IV Bill ready. Keep eye on that email for acceptance of DS-3032. You know NVC like to play games.

It's been 4 business days and 6 calendar days since I emailed them the OPTIN email + DS-3032. I should have received the acceptance email from them by now. I see people getting it in just 1 day (according to their signatures). I'm not talking about the DS-3032 acceptance, just the shifting of the process from paper to electronic. I need that GZO number to get everything moving again.
