Well, that's a new one from an operator blink.gif If another one mentions that, ask why it's been put on hold.

His statement was, "All consulates in Canada have ceased scheduling interviews at this time. They will begin scheduling again starting after September 10th, on a first-come-first-served basis from the previous queue". When I asked if he knew why, all he said was, "we're not told the reasons behind it, ma'am, only that they are not setting interview dates again until September".

I don't have the patience to call back again at this point. Though I do wonder, at what point do I worry if an interview has not yet been scheduled? A month? Two months? Longer?

For Canadians, currently, it's usually less than a month before finding out an interview date. I would suggest posting in the Canadian forum and seeing if any other Canadians have heard anything like that from an operator.

I tried to log in to the NVC payment site to see if a bill had been generated yet and it says: You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information.

In the past it has just show no bills available to be paid. Could this mean that someone is working on our file? Or is something wrong??

Just found out that the AOS package was accepted, and there is going to be a checklist for DS-230 regarding an incomplete address / residency information.

I was told, an email is going to be sent out. I won't be able to take a look at the copy of what I sent in until Thursday evening. Not happy - was hoping for a case complete.

On the bright side, the turn around from submitting the packages to getting them reviewed / accepted doesn't seem to be that bad.

FAQ

How long does it take to get a case number assigned after NOA2?

As of recently, it's been taking 4+ weeks. Check my spreadsheet (linked in post 1) to see where NVC is currently assigning case numbers.

When (and how often) should I start calling NVC about the case number?

Wait at least a week or two from your NOA2 date, then start calling. And call every single day afterwards until you get it.

The spreadsheet starts with older dates, why not the most recent first?

AND on your spreadsheet is says the NVC received date could be one of two things.

Why don't you and/or VJ have a separate column for the NVC received date AND a separate column case number date? to much work for you? and I guess VJ is lazy about making a better timeline template?

It's easier to keep the spreadsheet updated if it's sorted from older to recent. Just take the scroll bar on the right and drag it to the bottom. You'll then see all the recent dates.

Being that this is my spreadsheet I created, it has nothing to do with VJ. And why there isn't two columns for received/case number assigned is because of lack of dates on people's timelines/signatures. Most lines on the spreadsheet would be completely blank. Thus, I combined it into one column on my spreadsheet.

Ahhh man Funfetti you are breakin my heart. I am just hangin on to when, where how my case will show up. No one knows. CSC or NVC. They both are playin keep away it seems with me and its getting on my nerves. CSC told me to give it 90 days to "SEE" if it shows up at NVC. 32 days waiting for just a case received. Very upsetting. It''s not about even invoicing, AOS, IV Bill or interviews for me getting through NVC. I just want to know my case isn't in a box in a room collecting dust. Or as that nightmare movie I remember where the box of files fell off the back of the truck and down a cliff. OMG....let me wake up quickly.:crying::blink:

Hehehe you gave me a mild giggle. I understand your stress but your dream/nightmare I doubt it is as awful as it seems. I know in my case we had two checklists. At USCIS we had the RFE so I'd imagine that is why this year has been passing us by wihout much action. I was surprised that my case was complete just 5 business days after submitting the checklist documents. The best advice I can give you is to try your best not to get a checklist from NVC it delayed us quite a bit. We would have had an interview date by now I think if it were not for the dreaded checklists. I want a September interview anyway so pray for me please that I get that and I'll pray for you also. Good luck!

Is your country one of the ones that needs to front load? If so, then yes, if not, then no. Saylin seems to know all the countries that need frontloading.

If you feel you have red flags and you need to "PROVE" your relationship more and you feel these pictures will show a better more full picture than sure add. Did you already have pics at the I-130 filing stage?

Usually countries like my husbands Nigeria, Pakistan, Phillipines, Chna, India, MENA's need to bring the full arsenal to show proofs. Especially my Nigeria. Suppose to be the toughest. And for me our wedding pics are loss. So oh well new wedding new pics.

It's up to you to add or bring to interview. I mean this is the case file that will be in the hands of the CO that will be conducting the interview so I say more can be a good thing.

I am sorry, however I find this post is extremely rude!! I think that it is wonderful and nice that people on this site take time to put this information together for others. So to ask or say it is to much work or laziness that is rude. How would you feel if you didn't have this site or the individuals on this site for help. Geez the nerve of some people... It is not what you say but how you say something.

I would just like to say I am very grateful for this site and the people on it. I have no idea how I would be getting through all of this with out all of you and this site.

And let me just add here that I may not know Saylin personally but with her dedication and goodness staying up at all hours not just cutting and pasting guides and links but actually taking the time to answering pertinent questions. I know this sweet young lady would march down to NVC or CSC (goodness Saylin where is my case...LOL) and she would get results. All this Visa business, home with our love ones means alot to all the admins and moderators (Too many to name) here. So that really was very unpolite. And very not VJ like. We are a family here aren't we As SweetieOne said OneLove. No one knows like we know what we are enduring. (F)
