No need for W2's when you have tax transcripts. They love transcripts. :D

Thank you Saylin for answering my previous question. I also have a question on I-864 AOS. I am self employed. Do I need to included a copy of my tax returns or tax transcripts should be ok? I am reading in the instructions that I need to include tax returns for being self employed. Here is a copy and paste form the instructions:

"If you checked box 22(b) (self-employed), you should have completed one of the following forms with your Federal income tax return: Schedule C (Profit or Loss from Business), Schedule D (Capital Gains), Schedule E (Supplemental Income or Loss) or Schedule F (Profit or Loss from Farming). You must include each and every Form 1040 Schedule, if any, that you filed with your Federal tax return."

"If you are currently self-employed, a copy of your Schedule C, D, E or F from your most recent Federal Tax Return

which establishes your income from your business."

Here is what I plan on including in AOS packet:

I864

Profit statement form my CPA as of July 30th 2012

Business bank account statements form Jan to July 2012 to establish income deposits.

Tax Transcripts for 2009, 2010 and 2011 (might include tax return along with all the schedules for the most recent year depending on the answer I get here)

Would this be sufficient? Last year my income was about 60k and the previous years I had income of only couple grands just from investments as I was a student. This year my profit is only $15k so far (july end). But I do still project to make 60k this year as well. I do not have any dependents, just my wife whom I am sponsoring. Do you think I need a joint sponsor? Thanks again in advance for answering my question.

I'm not completely knowledgeable with those that are self-employed, so take my advice lightly. On your tax transcripts, does it have the information from Schedules C, D, E, or F? If so, then it seems like the tax transcripts would be sufficient. If not, you may have to include your tax returns with those schedules. You can try calling the operators and asking a bunch of them about this and take the majority of their answers. If you do this, please, please, please, do not just call once. Operators' answers differ greatly at times.

And no, a joint sponsor shouldn't be needed. As long as your last and current years are above the poverty lines, you're fine. And when I say current, I don't mean the beginning of the year up until now, I mean the entire year, so this is a projected amount.

Case complete at NVC and waiting for interview scheduling ! B-)

They accepted the IV packet without PCC from malaysia (to be presented at interview). :wow:

entering the home stretch .....

Grats! kicking.gifkicking.gif And I've seen a couple of cases where PCC's and/or birth certificates were able to be shown at the interiew, due to long processing times to get them.

Hey all. Just doing a general survey of people with NVC case complete dates in July that are still waiting for interview dates. Anyone?

After waiting three weeks (on Monday) for an interview date, I am beginning to get down and think knowing I'm not the only one would make me feel hopeful again.

Don't misunderstand - I am very happy for all of you getting your dates! I wouldn't wish the agony from waiting at this stage on anyone. It really is worse than all the other waiting periods during this process.

Please keep in mind, wait times for interview dates ALWAYS are dependent upon what country the beneficiary is in. Yours may be one of those that have to wait awhile to get an interview date. Don't focus on general sureys, you'll get no where. You need to focus on those specifically from the same country. Here's a link to help you: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op7=Senegal&dfile=No&adv=

Hi all,

While we are waiting to find out our interview date, I want to get organized for our medical. Besides immunization records, do we need to print out/take any additional forms to be filled out? Is there a wiki I should be looking at?

Nope, no additional forms to take with you. This is what you'll need:

-interview letter

-passport

-immunization record

-3 passport pictures

-method of payment

And if you'e ever had previous hospitalizations or been prescribed medication or been diagnosed with something, bring documentation for it.

Here's a great site on information for the medical: http://www.panelphysicians.com/Pages/WhatToBring.htm

Since NVC is currently assigning case numbers with those that have NOA2 dates in July, yes, I'd say there's quite a few of you. Even some from June still :(

You can check out my spreadsheet to see such cases.

If I lost my w2's can i submit the i864 with just the tax transcripts?????

As long as you didn't file taxes jointly and need to show just your income, tax transcripts are all you need.

Finally received our case number today, operator told me it would take 4-6 weeks before I receive something in my inbox. Is this really true? That's a long time. Is there a website for NVC where I can check status now that I have a case number?

Your AOS bill should be invoiced soon (wont be that long 4-6 weeks). In a day or two, keep checking the portal.

Did you gave the operator your and the beneficiary's email address? If you did, send DS3032 Choice of Agent email from beneficiary's email. After they review the DS3032 email and accept it, you will get invoiced the IV bill. If they for some reason reject the 3032, resend.

Grats on getting your case number! kicking.gif

While you were with the operator, did you get the IIN as well? Did you also give over both email addresses?

And no, it won't take that long to receive something; it'll be just a few days. And the only thing you can check is the payment portal for the two bills.

Thanks! They received our case on July 23rd. The operator said they are just in the processing of entering our case now so she could not take any new information at this time, but she did already have my email address (the petitioner). So maybe if I call back on Monday I can give them my husband's email address and ask for the IIN number. The only thing she gave me today was the case number.

I'd try calling again later this evening.
