I'm a bit lost as to what to do next...

A few days ago I paid the AOS fee and today the website says "PAID." My wife has emailed the DS-3032.

Here's where I'm at now...I've completed the I-864 as well as the letter stating I plan on re-establishing U.S. domicile and how I will go about doing so (along with supporting documents). All of that will be mailed to my wife tomorrow and will take a while to get to her since it will have to go from Afghanistan to the U.S. to Thailand. Once she gets everything, she'll mail it all to the NVC.

So, a few questions...

1. Does she need to complete the actual DS-3032 form and send that with all the other paperwork, even though she already sent the email regarding the DS-3032?

2. Do I need to include the AOS receipt with the paperwork I'm mailing to my wife so she can include it with the stuff she's mailing to the NVC?

2. Once the NVC gets the packet my wife sends them, what do I have to do? Do I need to call them for anything? Do I need to check the on-line payment website daily to see if IV processing fee has been invoiced?

1. Nope, no need to complete the physical form if she followed the template and emailed all the correct information.

2. No, the receipt isn't needed in either packages. Just the bar-coded cover sheet from the payment portal.

3. I suggest calling about the AOS package to see if it's been accepted or not. Other than that, you're done with the AOS track (unless you get a checklist).

And yes, keep an eye on the payment portal. A couple of days after the DS-3032 has been accepted and added to the case file, the bill will be invoiced.

It's currently taking around a week to review packages, so sometime next week I'd think. Call everyday to stay as up to date as possible on your case yes.gif

Either late this week or sometime next week. Make sure you're calling each day and asking for any updates.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to tell you all that on Monday we received an email from the NVC saying that we had an interview date! Unfortunately, it's still pretty far off - Sept. 26th, but it's better than nothing. Thanks for everyone in this thread, and especially Saylin, for all of the support. Couldn't have done it without you!

Now a question....are we going to get any specific instructions for the Medical exams, pictures for the interview, etc.? The NVC email doesn't say much, and the info that the embassy in Santiago has published about doctors is very outdated; we have tried calling Dr. Gail Grossman, but the phone is disconnected. Any ideas on what to do other than contact the embassy?

Thanks!

Grats! kicking.gif

If you want, you can try contacting the embassy in a few days (give them time to receive your case from NVC) and asking if there's any early slots open. Worth a shot ;)

And the interview email you just got is the last thing you're going to receive. Go back to the first post in this thread, I added some information at the bottom on where to get country-specific medical and interview information.

Saylin, when you say "the bill" you mean the IV bill right?

because I just paid the $88 dollar bill, not sure what for, but I will look it up sooner of late.

and the LingChe email template is fine and never heard anybody having any problems with it, but I wanted to fix a few mistakes on it for "peace of mind". Plus I wanted the template to be more like the DS-3032 PDF form so it would look more profesional and not to be the same as everybody else.

sometimes I worry to much! :bonk:

Yes, I was referring to the IV bill.

The $88 you paid was for the AOS. That gets automatically invoiced after a few days from the case number being assigned.

:ot: Saylin, I was a little upset with you, but after thinking hard about it, I now realize you are the nicest forum helpers I have every seen! most people in your shoes would just say: look it up yourself.

so you only deserve the best from us VJ members!

so does this mean I can send in the I-864 right now? well I guess after they confirm the payment? I did an online transfer from my bank account.

Once the AOS bill on the payment portal says PAID, then you can send the AOS package. Should just be a day or two. While waiting, go over the AOS package again and again to make sure you have everything. If you want, you can list out what you have here and I and others will see if you have everything.

And although it would be of course easier to tell anyone to "look it up", I know personally how daunting this process can be, with information spread out across everywhere. That's why I find it better (and nicer!) to actually answer a person's question and direct them to links that will help them out.
