Are you one of them there 'emailers' ???

Also, there's been reports of folk who filed the G-1135 actually getting the NVC Casefile # without ever having contacted NVC. IMO, it's a sure sign that the right 'data entry person' was working that day at NVC, could read stuff, and read stuff well.

Yes, the AOS invoice and Form DS-3230 was sent to me in an email and the NVC case number paper was sent to me in another email, both on the same day. Guess I was just lucky, which is always a good thing, and will hopefully continue. B-)

My timeline was last updated on 29MAR2013.

It's necessary to fill out the form. If NVC doesn't receive the form, they won't invoice your IV bill.

But yes, the beneficiary can be the agent. In the end, if both email addresses are given to an operator, it doesn't matter whatsoever who is selected as agent as both parties will receive correspondence by email. Most people select the petitioner (who's usually present in the US) because before when NVC used to mail correspondence, it'd be faster to receive it in the US instead of a foreign country.

Alright thanks, we're both abroad and will give email addresses anyways so it won't make a difference in terms of speed, but we'll do it.

If you don't give email addresses, it makes a world of difference in terms of speed.

Email correspondence = takes a few days to receive

Snail mail correspondence = takes a few weeks to receive

Thanks a lot Dana! Good luck for your case complete and interview date. NVC stage is all yours

Thank you Amenspanglish :)

Thank you winnie :)

You just make sure to write that review for the rest of us to see! Are you going for the interview? What about flights home together? How would you schedule that? Round trip for you and try to get your spouse a ticket after visa in hand to fly back with you? I wonder how hard it would be to book the same flight back home together?

Any ideas?

It probably wouldn't be a problem, but I'd never recommend using white out on important forms (government, immigration, etc).

I work in a Regulatory Affairs position. It is recommended you cross through mistakes with only one line or complete a new form. This is with anything that deals with the government. In addition, only blue or black ink if writing.

Thanks Deb for your lightening fast answer! but I was hoping to get an answer from someone who's done the online version because it's a bit different from the G-325a.

I never said congrats about your case being at the NVC! I was gonna text you but with all this craziness...hope you get your case number soon!

Hey I just realized I was promoted to a Senior Member today!

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?;)

As long as we don't start having "senior moments" I think it is a good thing!

Whether or not NVC emails you correspondence or snail mails it has nothing to do with the DS-3032. It's dependent upon whether or not they've received email addresses from either the petitioner or beneficiary after a case number was assigned.

No email addresses given = snail mail correspondence

Email addresses given = email correspondence

thank you so much!

On the top right, click 'Settings', then the 'Profile' tab, then the 'Change Signature' sub-tab. Then write all your important dates :)

Hi all.. We just got approved last August 3.. Any idea when does NVC will give our case number. My hubby will start calling them today.. (Monday on his place) thank u

We called them a week after being approved, they had received the file from USCIS but they didn't have a number for us yet and said it would take 10-20 business days.

You can see in my signature the time between getting my NOA2 and receiving my NVC case number. They sent it to me in an email, so I didn't have to call them, although I've read a lot of posts recommending to call the NVC daily to get the case number.

My timeline was last updated on 29MAR2013.
