Hello everyone!

My wife had her interview today, August 2nd, in Vietnam and was approved! Her actual interview time was quite short, only about 5 minutes. She was asked about how we met (we worked together) and where we worked. After that she was approved so now we are just waiting for the courier service to deliver her passport with visa in it and for her to book a flight back to the US.

Everyone here has been very helpful, thanks so much!

Good luck to all!

CONGRATS to you both! A lifetime of luck and happiness :D

Can someone please explain to me why does my receive date change everytime I call (maybe I shouldn't call again). First it was July 31, Than it was July 30th. Now I call It's August 1. And of course its you must give us 20 business days to enter into the system from August 1st. So they are saying August 28th I will hae a case #!:help: . Are the for real. What exactly does NVC do. Do they also scan our case? This is beyond frustrating since they had lost me for 30 days. Here people who just are getting NAO2 are gettings cse#'s. Okay I am done ranting. Happy 1st Friday of August to us all. :hehe:

Welcome to August.

Now then - did you burn any calories in the last 30 days ?

I know I did, as I read all of yer stuff !!!

My Brain Hurts !!!

But to address your concern....

These 'receive file' dates shift as to 'receive the file' really means different things.

There's the date it hit the door (which we can never know)

Then the date it was actually scanned in (which we can never know)

Then the date a computer record number was generated (the Embassy Casefile #) and that date you know, as it's really called the 'casefile received date' with NVC.

Once you have a casefile number, the first switch is turned on. It's a small switch, to be certain, but the 2nd switch, after, is the big one,

where you receive the AOS FEE BILL via email. Get that? All Is On at NVC, waiting for you.

As to the dates changing; alas - chalk it up to SERCO Contractors Improperly Trained, as they aren't supposed to read anything out to you about dates till the casefile has been scanned in (the Embassy Casefile # is assigned during that step) .

Serco Sucks. I'd love to buy them out, revamp all. I think that's the only way to institute a change with NVC.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Congratulations on getting your interview set!

Our embassy must be terribly behind as I'm now seeing a few people with NVC case complete dates after ours, who are now getting interview dates. Hopefully ours won't be too far behind.

Hey now be nice to me. ;). Darnell you keep me sane. And yes I have lost 4 lbs in the last week alone.

NVC man for CR1/IR1 Visa processing they are stickin to that 15 business day script. Right now being a K1 looks so nice.

Of course there's no interview slots so oh well.

I figure all in all its been 4 months 20 days since NOA1 can't reaLly be too upset. And really I need this extra time to stack up those paystubs from the new job.

Now Darnell don't take this wrong but I pray August is our last month as me seeking a visa. ;)

Oh and where can I sign u up to revamp NVC?

Ok, first off, please don't spam this everywhere. You posted here in the August thread, and in the July thread, you left a comment on my wall, as well as PM'ing me. One place is sufficient.

And since your question is country-specific, you need to research for your answer in the Philippines forum: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/
