It's been 4 business days and 6 calendar days since I emailed them the OPTIN email + DS-3032. I should have received the acceptance email from them by now. I see people getting it in just 1 day (according to their signatures). I'm not talking about the DS-3032 acceptance, just the shifting of the process from paper to electronic. I need that GZO number to get everything moving again.

here's a new hook - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/383948-nvc-wants-original-docs-is-this-normal/page__view__findpost__p__5622735

so I suggest try that, to the nvcelectronic@state.gov in a coupla days...

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

When I send the DS-230/IV Packet, is it okay to send a photocopy of the beneficiary's certified birth certificate? Or does he need to send the original certified birth certificate? BTW, all he has is a certified copy of the original document.

No, there either is one or there isn't. Let us know the date that the NVC recieved your case as that will give you a rough idea on when your case number will be available.

I'm expecting mine next week based on them receiving my case Aug 10th (although calling every couple of days just in case)

10-20 business days although based on the fact that someone in this thread whose case was received by NVC on July 30th has theirs, you should have yours any day now.

Please post when you do (including the Aug 6th date for reference)!

Yeh no doubt i usually post how long it takes so it gives other ppl an idea :) just like it took 234 days to get NOA2 lol... looooong wait! Im ready for my case number lol

It has to either be the original OR a certified copy. Then you send a regular photocopy as well so you can get the original/certified copy back at the time of the interview.

I sent my certified copy of my birth certificate (I have no idea where my original is), and had no problems.

We submitted our DS-3032 on 8/13, more than a week ago now. How long should I wait before contacting NVC for a status on the acceptance? Suggestions?

You can try calling an operator, but until NVC gets to your email, they can't really help. Keep in mind, it can take longer than a week to get to your email.

I think NVC has like, ONE operator.... (Shelly) and I always seem to get her. And everytime I call she says "it was received 8/20. PLEASE GIVE US 10-20 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!" And she's.... not so nice.

It's a shame they got rid of the automated line and only have one person working there.

Somehow I always get her. She must be the only one there at 7a EST LOL Maybe I'll call next time at 11p EST.

I wonder, do they assign cases #s in order received or is it a total crapshoot?

Yeah, try calling at a different time.

And you would think it would be in order, but I'm sure it's not always the case.

Here's where I am...I paid the IV fee and it is showing as "paid" on the website. What do I do now? Should I send all the paperwork to the NVC? Am I supposed to wait until they send me an email explaining what exactly I'm supposed to mail to them (even though I already know what it is I'm suppose to send)?

As long as the respective bill is appearing as PAID, you can send the packages! No need to wait for NVC to send you something about it.

She must've been the same operator I got around 9:30 this morning. She wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor.

As suggested by Darnell, I tried to get a supervisor to look for my email, but to no avail.

So I fired off an email with "SUPERVISORY REVIEW with my case number" subject line.

Let's see if I get a response.

Case complete! Thanks to all on VJ! Waiting now for our interview. There are so few people here from our embassy it's really hard to tell how long we should expect to wait. I hate calling every day expecting to get nothing. But I need to know as soon as possible since our embassy is in another country and requires expensive travel.....any words of wisdom??

Good to know. My wife is getting her medical physical tomorrow and then will get the police background check (she'll be including certified copies of those documents with the rest of the paperwork being sent to NVC). So I guess the packet will be mailed off soon. I was kind of hoping the NVC would send something detailing me exactly what to send them just in case I have something wrong, but I guess not. I'll just hope I don't get a RFE from them telling me they need something else.
