I have been reading different posts pertaining to vaccinations prior to medical. Is it a prerequisite for my fiancee to have all her shots updated prior to her medical at St Lukes? What shots do they receive st their medical?

Many thanks and good luck to all that are in a holding pattern.

They mostly give MMR, like i had.. I got my vaccine the day my flight because of personal reason. They also told me i can get my vaccine in US, if i don't have enough time to come back to st. lukers but its a little bit expensive in US. So i decide to get my vaccine the same day my flight, since i already paid my medical..

Nope, she doesn't need to do anything before the medical. She'll get all the shots she needs at the medical, and they are all included in the price of the medical.

Normally they receive vaccinations for TDap, MMR, Varicella (if St. Lukes don't see any chicken pox scars on her), and the flu (during the flu season).

Varicella ( If she has not had Chicken Pox )

MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella )

Tdap ( Diptheria ,tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough).

Vaccinations are included in the cost of the medical.

WE JUST DID MMR and Vacerella ahead of time. The cost fairly low -- about 2000 pesos.

Because of the concern for pregnancy and the possible birth defects. They recommend waiting 1-3 months, depending on the authority, before becoming pregant with these immunizations.

The Tdap and flu shots we will receive at the time of the medical, and they are actually good for Mother in early pregnancy.

We are not expecting yet, but didn't want to have any issues once I go there for the interview, and to return with my wife.

My fiancee had her records but was in her father's last name and not what her birth cert is. She had to get them all.

It doesn't really matter if she has the shot records or not. Roxane did not. She got the shots mentioned above, because they are regular, recurring adult shots. Even though she didn't have proof of child immunizations, most are for kids only, and don't need to be administered in an adult. I wouldn't waste the time nor the money on vaccinations before the medical, as all that are needed are included in the cost already. It would be like buying an extra steering wheel for a car you are about to purchase. Can you? Yes. Do you NEED to? No, because the car will come with one when you pay for it! rofl.gif
